Morgan Brian arrives in France: http://www.olweb.fr/fr/article/merc...rgan-brian-rejoignent-l-ol-feminin-33354.html (in French)
It appears Brian has signed through 2020. Her new hubby is an American gentlemen named "Fabrice Gautrat," so I'm taking a wild guess that he will be quite comfortable in France. It looks like it takes 4 years to get a French passport as a spouse, though I'm not sure what the league rules are for spouses of EU citizens. #USWNT’s Morgan Brian leaves NWSL for French powerhouse Lyon, signing through 2020 https://t.co/iQGTW0uYWf— SI Soccer (@si_soccer) January 1, 2018 Interestingly enough, I learned that Crystal Dunn is engaged to a Frenchman, Pierre Soubrier, who has been working for the Washington Spirit. They get married in December 2018.
We may have seen the last of Morgan Brian on the USWNT. And I won't be too surprised if Crystal Dunn likewise departs the NT. Neither of them have been recent fixtures in National Team matches. Out of sight, out of mind. But, they're both still young, so who knows?
I'm still waiting for the news that Amandine Henry got engaged to an American who was working for O.L.
Both have been fixtures in camp though, even while Dunn has been overseas. Brian has also been nursing an injury for what seems like over a year now. If Lyon can get her healthy and keep her healthy, then I think we'll see her make it back into the mix regularly.
I suspect Ellis has told Brian that she is not likely to be on the roster for the 2019 WWC, so Brian is opting to go where she thinks she will get the maximum improvement -- or the most money? These are guesses, that's all. I'm wondering about Dunn, as she seems like she would be a great addition to the USWNT. Maybe there's a question about durability? That's something I've been thinking may have an impact on selections.
Definitely they are guesses. Given her marriage to a Frenchman, if Lyon pays more than the NWSL, her decision to go to France would make sense regardless of what Ellis told her. And, several other American players have played in Europe and returned to play well on the USWNT. The bigger question is her injury. Will she recover and return to 2015 form? I hope so since she is one of the best and most complete players on the team.

Catania Calcio Femminile, palying in Italian SerieB, signed the USA midfielder Brenna Rachel Connel, who I think previously played in the reserve team of the Washington Spirits; she adds to the nearly homonymous Cortney O'Connell, who plays here from the start of the season.

From this article, it seems Morgan Brian is starting out with some individual training/rehab of running, strength training, and ball work before joining in with training in the team and playing in matches. I'm glad they're taking it slow; she needs to get and stay healthy.
Former pride goalkeeper Hannah Seabert signs with Fortuna Hjorring Pepperdine standout and former Orlando Pride goalkeeper Hannah Seabert has signed with Fortuna Hjorring of Elitedivisionen of Denmark. Seabert ended up at the Pride after meeting the goalkeeper coach Lloyd Yaxley at her first U-23 WNT camp early last year. At the Pride this past year, Seabert trained day in and day out with top USWNT goalkeeping talent in Ashlyn Harris as well as Aubrey Bledsoe and Caroline Stanley throughout the year.
