Sweden will also be in UAE for their winter training camp: January 7 vs Estonia, January 11 vs Denmark.
I think we changed our plans to go to Europe instead of UAE this winter. KFA said they would announce friendlies as they are confirmed, but for the past few days there hasn't been anything new.
There's nothing in regards to a change of plans at the moment, other than the fact that Sweden has an identical schedule and training venue as ours.
I think it wasn't official from the beginning. It was a journalist's claim. It was also claimed that we'd face Denmark, N.Ireland and Bosnia in January and also that rumor was debunked by KFA.
Denmark was even more of stupid rumor considering that they're facing Sweden in Dubai. I even posted the schedule a couple posts above as well. As for Iceland, it's more of a case of a failed negotiation due to Iceland having been already booked.
KFA says they are negotiating with 3 East European teams and one African team. Is Korea-Croatia happening?
Anyone of Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Cezch Republic, Greece could be potential opponents. Estonia and Bosnia are out of the equation as both teams are booked for this month.
That would be worst case scenario due to KFA's failure, however almost every East European teams aren't booked for January except Estonia and Bosnia, so Croatia would be highly likely. And, since we've already faced Russia and Serbia last year, there's really no reason to be arranging a friendly with them.
Well, it's taking them this long to set up a winter training camp, so the chances of the KFA failing to nab anyone of the countries I've listed is still high, I mean the winter training camp should've been set by now.
Going to close this thread as it seems to overlap with the new KNT thread and most discussions about the Taeguk Warriors likely involve WC prep. If you prefer two separate threads, pls PM me and I may reconsider. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/the-official-2018-korea-nt-thread-r.2080096/
