Awful group for Iran, but not so fast. If Iran wins its first game against Morocco (no easy task, but not inconceivable), it can potentially frustrate Spain with its defense and get a draw. And we could do the same to Portugal and end up with 5 points. And that could be enough to eliminate one of these sides.

South Africa had a horrible group in 2010 what are you talking about ?

being paired with Mexico, Uruguay, and France

That was one of the harderst groups that tournament

    Huh?
Mexico's advanced out of every single World Cup Group they've been tossed into since 1986 (1990 exempted as they were banned for a youth world cup overage violation or something like that). Every single cup. They're remarkably consistent which makes their draw this time a bit scary. But they've made it through tougher groups before this.

This is one of the best Mexico sides as well, it's better than the 2002 and 2006 sides, not sure if it's better than their 2014 or not. They're damn good. I expect them to take out Sweden, and South Korea without much trouble, but just as in every cycle since 1986 save 2002 (and the banned 1990 edition), they got a really bad knockout round draw if they don't win the group. I can't see how they beat France. The only teams they struggle with our European world cup title contenders, and Brazil and Argentina. That's it. Nobody else could or should be favored against them, and that includes Croatia.

Do you really think South Africa's 2010 group was easy?

Haha. People and their conspiracy theories...

For example, in 2014 South Africa got France, Uruguay, Mexico, probably the first/second toughest opponents for a pot 1 team.

Not psyched about the draw. Pretty similar difficulty to our 1998 group of Germany, Yugoslavia, USA. Although, this means we have two chances to impress the world.

Im consoled by the fact that CQ has motivation against Portugal and Spain(Man Utd former manager/former Man UTD)

That, along with the fact that a CQ bus might be the most irritating thing to play against, means Portugal/Spain wont have an easy day at the office. Ask the Argentines.

Excited to watch. Good luck all

If either Brazil or Germany fail to become 1st, they face each other in the round of 16.

Group C and D are the most interesting. Could be France v Argentina second round.

Don't see Brazil not winning their group, but Denmark could well come out on top vs Germany. They are that type of side...

Iceland are a highly well organized defensive minded team who are especially good when they face a not all that well-organized attacking minded team .. like when they beat Turkey 3-0 away in the qualifiers ...I'm not sure how tactically well organized Nigeria are .. but Croatia are just the kind of team i'm sure Iceland would like to face ...
