Deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth. This is a discussion board, nothing worth getting worked up over
One more thing. Excellent analysis of 2017 TV ratings. Where are our flagship teams? http://sagarin.com/sports/soccer.htm
Wow, this kind of vitriol is usually reserved for rival fan banter in other sports, yet in soccer, we get this kind of passion over an attendance debate. And the Eurosnobs claim we don't have a "soccer culture."
Both of you knock this crap off, or expect a vacation from the forum. It's not OK to tell someone to self-fornicate, and it's not OK to accuse someone of lying because you got proven wrong. Dial it back.
9691 for the basket final. That is the first sellout for the San Francisco deltas. Will this team exist next season???
Season ticket holders had their chance to pick up extras today....the few that are left for general sale become available soon Not many tickets left!Toronto FC 🆚 @ColumbusCrewSC at @BMOFieldGeneral On-sale Starts @ 4pm: https://t.co/opUiW5GEe8 pic.twitter.com/11fbOnuVlR— Toronto FC (@TorontoFC) November 14, 2017
OK all you attendance number geeks. This is for you. A really bright Crew fan did a ridiculously in depth analysis of overall league attendance figures with an eye, specifically, to how those numbers are driven by scheduling. His main point is, obviously, that the league itself conspired to drive the metrics down in CBus this season using various means like scheduling the statistically strongest road draws for weeknight games and shows that they know better by demonstrating that they've never done it before. It's long, it's geeky and in between the conclusive proof of the Rachel Phelps-ing of the Crew the methods and results will be of interest to you numbers freaks even if you don't necessarily agree with the conclusions. And as soon as I figure out what linear regression means I myself may have an opinion. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hJHhTQol1RbNkvjQWpk2kruY8kwVRbGN/view
The Columbus game is a sellout and only selling standing room only. Don’t look for any announcement from mls or the Crew FO though, they want to announce a lower attendance. Business metrics.
MLS website has an article saying they are expecting a sellout. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...ts-tuesdays-playoff-match-vs-toronto-sell-out
So I have no idea if this really happened but I found a tweet that claims Justin meram claimed during an interview he also believes the attendance for the last Columbus home game was lied about by the FO. Did anyone hear this interview? If the players that were there are saying this I think it gives more credence to those of us that also think they lied. 931661058661642240 is not a valid tweet id
OK, bet. I bet they announce 15,001 or higher, you bet they announce 15,000 or lower. Loser doesn't post in this forum until after MLS Cup.
Haha. You may win that. I am not sure about the 15k that I stated previously, but I would not be surprised if they announce at least a couple thousand less than sell out which is ~20k. Also they are apparently selling standing room only tickets so the number should be higher than seating capacity. My guess is 18-15k is what will be announced. However, I am more than willing to stop posting if that is what everyone wants.
yes, the players as well as others have commented that the announced crowd of 14K+ looked much smaller than the fans in the seats. If attendance was really below 15K, the stadium would have been at least a quarter empty. But pictures show a nearly full house minus the top rows of the upper decks.
the man is making a good point- since 1996, the Crew have an average between 14 000 to less than 17 000, bouncing around like a ping pong ball- its not been a steady uptick not trying to piss on your cornflakes as i wouldnt want my team relocated either- but the columbus market has never been a solid one and hasnt shown any consistent growth- would a DT SSS be the answer? along with a DT stadium, saving the Crew would take an increased STH base of around 16 000- if the Crew supporters could get that committed number for 2018, it would be hard to justify moving the team- it certainly would squeeze the balls of AP and MLS brass
Seattle opened up two more upper deck sections. https://www1.ticketmaster.com/seatt...n-11-30-2017/event/0F00534483D81621#efeat4212
