Anyone watching the US-Jamaica game hear them saying RSL is trying to sign Mathis? That would be so awesome. He hasn't been playing at Hannover. Imagine Mathis reunited with Andy Williams in Salt Lake. Those two were a nasty combo in Jersey.

i just hope the compensation you guys give FC Dallas for the Kreis theft turns out to be worth something, and yes it would be cool to see Mathis back

if u guys get 80% of what both those players once were your in good shape. Mathis can still play, if kreis has a rebirth then look out.

Yea Mathis can def. play. He's fit too, anybody who has seen photos of him from Germ. can see that. He scored some insane goals over there too in his short time. Too bad he messed around with the coach.

And Park City is 20 minutes closer to Evanston, in case you need Vital Supplies on Sunday.

But don't we owe FCD some draft choices & isn't The Team Formerly Known As The Burn still owed an allocation for the Adu deal and they could probably use a You Suck allocation for missing the playoffs for 2 years in a row?

I believe so, but perhaps Uncle Dave can work some of his magic. Ah, allocations. More proof that MLS is a pain in the a**, and is not the NFL. (But hey, would MLS be around if it weren't for their allocations? I think not. Chivas will probably figure out a way to work around this, in due time.)
Re: FCD, RSL officials said it would be at least 2006 before we paid back FC Whatever for Kreis, but yes, FC Suburbs will probably get several allocations out of pity.

Clint Mathis in Salt Lake City? Pardon me if I'm wrong but they don't even air Saturday Night Live in SLC - what is "Cletus" gonna do for fun? Hang out with Donny & Marie?

Literally - he's one sick dude.

Cletus and Kreis on the field together? From a distance how would you tell them apart?

Saturday Night Live is on here, just not on the NBC affiliate. We're bad but we're not
    that bad.

Yeah I heard that and thought "how would that work out"? I mean the enigmatic MLS rules and Clint's proclivities. However, if the team could make it work it could be an interesting first year.

Get real guys. Clint Mathis is a professional soccer player. Salt Lake City offers all the legal recreational opportunities as anywhere else in the country, they're just fewer and better hidden. It's not like a pro soccer player is not going to play for a team because the state has 3.2 beer.

Please...do not let them know this. They'll all want to move to SLC and that will ruin it for everyone.

We're talking about a guy who had a beer tap setup in his basement. This might be an issue.

Believe it or not there are people in Utah that drink beer and that have "Beer Taps" in their basement. It is not so backward here!
Prudish... yes, on occassion. Backward... NO!

Just because people in Colorado have to put there shoes on to go down to the crick to get washin' up water... and have there still hidden out behind the outhouse...
This does not mean that Utah is the same way... The two states are only "close" in proximity

and in david beckham's autobiography he said he might even want to play in america someday. He also plays for a team that has real in it, that RSL is a part of. do you think he was hinting something?
    I kid, i kid

Mathis would be great for you guys to have in RSL, I would not be surprised if Mathis signs, frankly because of his ties with Ellinger.....

On ESPNNews they interviewed Andy Williams. He said that he had spoken with Ellinger on the phone last night and was told that he would be playing the midfield behind Kreis and Mathis. He spoke as if it had already happened or was a certain thing. Interesting...

Keep in mind that Andy Williams is Jamaican and speaks very generally as do most Jamaicans. (not trying to be overly stereotypical) Most Jamaicans speak very generally. Andy Williams also said he thinks he'll get a championship in RSL, but I doubt he's gonna stress if he doesn't. Wouldn't bet the farm on Mathis yet.
