Pulisic would fit Barcelona style well, actually. He'd just need to get the time to adapt.

On the other hand, the political trouble in Spain is not unlikely to blow their league to smithereens.

Never seen mentions of "secondary assists" in soccer in the Canadian media.

However, consider most people writing about footie here are Englishmen or Scots.

He was great in this game. Consistently beat his man on the left flank. Set up some great opportunities.

I actually think Dortmund played a bit better in this match than they have recently, but Bayern are just so good.

And I don't care what the stats say, he was miles better than Yarmo.

I thought the same thing buts it's not ranking. It's numerical order

They lost by two goals to Bayern at home. That's not a good result for Dortmund, they're expected to win by a goal or tie at worst this game.

As is, they've dropped to third and a loss to Stuttgart in the next match (away) will have them in fourth and Bosz walking the plank.

I thought he was by far BVB's best player today and one of the best on the field despite the dominant performance by Bayern. Süle and Kimmich are two of the better defenders in the BL and had no shot at containing him all game.

After getting off to a good start to the season, he had been struggling, probably from confidence-loss for his international experiences. Anybody who was being honest would acknowledge that for whatever reason he was off. But now the reverse is true for the last few games. He's back on form and been one of Dortmund's best players. Can't beat his man, make the pass, and finish it off himself. It's a team game. Most of the rest of the front 6 is sucking, and Bosz's tactics are suspect against better teams + in road games. So it shouldn't be a question of if HE (Christian) is good enough for BVB right now.

In soccer, stats should be a very small part of the evaluative process. The qualitative aspects have much more value in performance assessments than single game snapshots.

I mean ferfuxache the USMNT was something like 90+% to qualify for the WC and we saw how that went.

Julian Weigl is a prime example. Did he suddenly go from World Class back-up CDM on the world champion DFB to shit? Look at the stats and you would think so. Hey I have an idea how about factor into the performance calculus he is being asked to play in a way that maximizes his weaknesses and minimize his strengths. Same goes for Auba.

One of the faster strikers in football with speed that is widely feared. So lets push the whole fecking team up and ensure he has no space in behind and expect him to play tidy combinations in tidy space and ament the fact he is in a slump.

All that said, and yet there is one stat that does matter and that is WDL, and in that area the stats do show PB sucks massively for a team of this quality.

    PB raus

You were right, BVB did not get hammered.

They just got run over by a train.

  15. Why do you think the stats say Yarmo was better? I donot see that!

He did have a couple of subpar games, but I think it was just fatigue. It is similar to what I was saying about stats. He did not get any assists or goals, but Auba has missed a few sitters and Yarmo missed one of the easiest chances he ever had.

He wasn't really in top form, but he still gave mostly above average performances.

Anyone watching could see that he was the best player in the pitch. That goes for Bayern and Dortumnd

This is the first league game this season where he was the clear Dortmund MOTM, in my opinion. Kicker should give him a 2,5 (he deserves a 2 but I don't see them giving a 2 to a player in a team that lost by two goals at home).

  19. As far as I can tell, the difference maker was the Bayern goalie, who stood in the way of the BVB attack being succesfull. BVB had 15 shots on goal, of which 9 from inside the box, versus Bayern only 10 shots.

    Combination of both.

Good keeping by the GM goalie.

WORSE finishing by the BVB attack.

Auba, Yarmo, and Kagawa can't finish shite if they were given $1M for a goal.

And his man was Germany's national team RB, Kimmich. Left him in the dust over and over.

Bosz needs to make some radical player selection moves, before he ran out of time.

He needs to make the tough call and bench Auba. Dude is in terrible form. Give Schurlle or Isak some minutes.

Yarmo is only good against the bottom 5 teams in the league. The guy lacks skills, but even worse he has no speed for this high press game. Start the kid Sancho instead.

Kagawa needs to sit more, you don't play well with the best player on the team, you gonna sit.

Bring CP centrally, and put Goetze and Weigle behind him.

Crazy thought. Give CP a run in Auba's slot?
