Russia 2018: Ticket Thread (sales at face-value ONLY)

Anooother friend called fifa and they say that the winners are already charged and in FCFS we will can buy tickets for the finals!!

 

FIFA never announced so little about tickets like this time, so don’t be surprised if they do not tell anything, even though we do expect them to make some digits public.

we assume so, but nothing is certain. it is likely that some shorter TST series might be available, while it is probably unlikely to see any TST7 series for sale. noone here knows that yet, there might be everything available or just selected games
may FIFA surprise us .... and my the force be with us

 

Dificult, I think just on the next week, any south america country received answer of tst

 

I got a TST7 in 2010 in this second round phase for Uruguay if this makes anyone feel better.

 

Guessing they’ll all be cat 1, to maximize the profit. I’m not paying $1100 for a finals ticket this time, and neither should anyone

 

I thought they said ticket prices will remain the same through all phases of ticket sales?

Can someone give some background to how FCFS works? Any past experiences? Is it literally a list of what's available and then an add to cart style checkout?

 

Yes prices stay the same, and cat 1 final tickets are $1100 each

As for experience, from 2014’s phases, you are put into a queue and when you are into the site, you see a screen with a list of all the matches with availability green/yellow/red for each category. Then you click in and try to add to cart. Assuming you miraculously add to cart, then you have to checkout and sometimes servers crash and checkout does not work.

If you don't want to deal with the pressure of FCFS and all its trappings there is always the guaranteed way to get tickets to the group stage, semis, and finals

Loove it! If the final is Argentina - Brazil, argentina - Germany, or anything with argentina ... the hospitality prices are a bargain. How much were argentines paying for a ticket in the final in Rio?

Ive bagged 2 tickets to the final so far... bucket list item and would never resell... but if the CAT1 price is around 1000; I may pull the trigger...

 

Did anyone get tickets for the SP game on June 26, Sochi on June 30 and Rostov on Don 02 July plus the SP semi?

In this Lottery Phase 1 i've got 2 x TST 7 , 4 x Semi- Final St. Petersburg and 4 x Semi-Final Moscow

 

Yes more or less. It will be really crazy and very difficult to get tickets.

There will be very few (if any) of the "in demand" tickets. You will need a fast internet connection and lots of luck.

It may be worth checking a few hours later. You won't get the final or TSTs for Brazil, Argentina, Mexico or Egypt but there will be tickets there. Games in NN, Volgograd, Sochi etc and possibly TSTs 3 or 4 for decent teams with low travelling support eg France, Spain or Portugal.

Seeing the final for me feels far far away unless I want to pay shitloads on viagogo. If I'd only known TST7 for any team would guarantee that I would have seen the final even if that team is knocked out I would have gone for random TST7 just to bag the final and get it out of my system.

 

sorry to dissapoint you but there was never any queue in FIFA world cup ticketing

since they sell online in 2002, you got the waiting room screen which makes wrong impression of having a queue, but it is nothing else but pure delay with reload after some time

 

The next phase is dim enough but I believe there will be plenty of chances in future phases to get the tickets we all want. There will be another random selection phase after the draw. Then FCFS phases with tickets popping up at random. Great chances here.

Egypt to me are the surprise team re demand this time. This will be my 8th consecutive World Cup and there are often surprise teams re ticket demand. Japan in 1998, Mexico in 2006 and half of Egypt seems to be heading to Russia.

So don't despair by any means re tickets. I'm confident I'll get a ticket for the final in the end and the group games I need. There are plenty of phases left but the next one is one of the more challenging phases.

 

I'm not surprised about Egypt at all. This is their first World Cup since 1990, so they've had to wait a while. Plus, if you watched their qualifier against Congo that punched their ticket to Russia, it's evident that they're insanely passionate for their team. I hope I get to go to one of their matches in Russia.

I wouldn’t be that negative about FCFS tickets for this World Cup... demand is definitely not that of Brazil, and I can honestly see the final being readily available in future phases as we go.

 

I think they will/should change it this year around and use the Euro 2016 system. It was imo the best. You waited in the queue.. got in.. made your choices/purchases and got kicked out afterwards all the way back to the queue. This refreshing BS is just so old and lame.

 

If they implement a queue system then the critical thing to accomplish will be to be upfront in the queue. Not sure how that is accomplished though but usually F5 helps...
During Euro 16 I was upfront in the queue a few times and when that happens you basically have free choice of tickets once you enter the shop.
I would expect that they have most tickets and categories available but Final and TST7s in very limited quantities, i.e. it will be important to get in first... easier said than done

 

Does anyone know if FIFA will accept debit card for payment in the FCFS or it accept only credit card?

 

As long as it’s a Visa/MasterCard Debit Card that will be fine.

 

New charge & didn't receive any confirmation email till today. Another person said something along the same lines but she used ambiguous wording so who knows.

 

No one else I know got charged... I suppose we’ll find out Tuesday anyway, I’m just so damn anxious!
