And on top of this early comical deficit....the WRONG person got voted out of Survivor! This night's gonna suck....
Aside from the team not having any actual star power, attendance isn’t helped by the complete lack of atmosphere at Fire games. Section 8 know one chant; it’s not exactly an electric environment.
Sheeecahgo Fire! The Hispanic supporters group to the right of the stage is way more energetic. That's where the drum you're hearing is.
Devil's advocate stance, simply because I'm compelled to say it for some reason: I'm sorry. I get all the logistical reasons that make traveling to a weeknight game difficult, but at at some point it's down on us as fans, as well. Everyone wanted to make the post-season, we knew the nights the games would be played and had an idea which teams were likely going to feature, and in theory this is what you've been building for the whole season. We've spent the past several days ranting about how the Crew should be saved despite their "poor" crowds yet now in Chicago's biggest game they're looking at less than average attendance?! If we as fans want the teams/owners to celebrate us as a great asset and treat us as more than mere business customers then we need to do our part, as well. Okay, I'm done. Just hope the game gets more entertaining.
Every game I’ve ever been to there, Sector Latino (?) has been much more active and vocal despite being in 1/8 the space and having much fewer people. Every single chant S8 know is basically saying the word Fire, over and over.
Is this second game tonight just on local Unimas channels? I don't see it on the national channels on DirecTV.
MLSsoccer says "Fans outside of Canada and San Jose can watch the match for FREE using MLS Live." I assume that means live, not delayed.
Chicago looks like they have no clue what to do once they get the ball. Dribbling into dead ends, holding the ball too long, and making lateral/back passes out of lack of a better option rather than intentional possession recycling. New York on the other had are attacking 3 on 5 and look so much more dangerous because they have an actual idea of where to be and what to do.
Hard to tell from the replay, but seemed like Juninho go kicked hard in the back of his shooting foot/leg. Chicago Fire: what 6 years out of the playoffs will do to your fan base. They need more than one year to rebuild. Of course it’s disappointing but there are reasons.
