The league didn't release the names of these groups in the filing for divisional status. So all the USSF knew about was what was in the filing, which was for 8 teams for 2018. The article mentions that a few of these were signed in September, which would have been after the rejection decision as well.

The lawsuit mentions Detroit and New Orleans specifically.

I guess they had to play at Boxer Stadium and a quick look at Google Maps tells me it doesn't have lights. Maybe it's different where you live, but where I come from soccer isn't usually played in the dark. :)

So you have to play the game in the afternoon.

The results of the game could affect playoff seeding. Miami has already clinched the #1 overall seed, but the Deltas are leading the race for the Fall Championship...which says that at least the on-field product is good.

Except Deltas are dead and Edmonton is leaving... So not 17. And most of those NPSL teams likely don't meet D2 or D3 standard so they won't be useful...

Obviously I don't know the lease terms for Kezar, but I'm sure there were scheduling conflicts.

It's not unheard of. An NYCFC game in September was moved to Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field due to a scheduling conflict with the Yankees. It usually happens in arenas during the NHL and NBA playoffs. A Garth Brooks concert at Amalie Arena in Tampa got cancelled when the Lightning made the Stanley Cup final a few years back.

All part of the hazards of not owning your own facility.

This match resembles a closed door friendly. Who knows? It may be closed door. Secret and free?

It doesn't appear on the front page of the Deltas' website. The schedule page links to an article announcing the postponement of the match with no mention of today's match. Is it really happening?

I get emails from the Deltas. I don't recall any news about a match at Boxer, although I skim and delete. I found out about it by accident elsewhere online.

Aren't there STH's who paid for the postponed match?

Minor league even by minor league standards.

I see it on the schedule page now.

Clearly, it was done on a last minute basis. The club should have followed up with at least season ticket holders once the reschedule happened, but it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't.

I stumbled upon it weeks ago. I alerted someone at the last Quakes home match on September 30th.

I don't care much, so I didn't poke around on the Deltas site until this week and posted the information here. Does anyone else know? Care?

Well if they're already committed to folding they may not even have staff to update the website... Or care to do so.

Well it's not closed door, I am here and it is free admission., they are kicking off now and I just counted exactly 64 people in the stands, not including Deltas personnel and security.

    Sub-100!

Lets see what they actually report. This'll be a good instance to figure out if they've been full of shit with their "we only announce actual attendance not distributed tickets" BS.

Maybe 75-80 15 minutes in. They will have a difficult time reporting since the person at the turnstiles was just waiving people thru.

For anyone interested in SFD merchandise, they're giving it away for free during their final game.

When this was formed, I had high hopes for it. But that all changed when the owner and investors displayed the marketing route that they used - one that I don't identify with or, in my opinion identified, the history of the city.

The team refunded all the people who paid for the original Sept. 9th date, including the portion season ticket holders paid for the game.

Kezar was unavailable and Boxer was the only possible replacement in SF or the game could've been moved to Miami (which would've been unfair considering Miami and SF are battling for the top spot in the fall season). Boxer has no lights so game had to be played during the day.

There was no attendance figures cause there was no paid admission. Just security.

And if any of you guys care about the team that plays on the field they tied 2-2 and are still in first place by Goal differential with two games left:

Eddie, hope you can make it to the final regular season game on 10/28. All tickets are 5 bucks.

Owned by a crazy person. Absolutely cannot meet D2 standards in any way.

Have played two years in the NPSL and have been a pretty good side, making the playoffs both years. Drew 378 people per game to a high school field this year. Their owner is a successful restaurateur. Will still need to bolster ownership and infrastructure to be a D2 team.

Arguably the most successful NPSL organization. Have the stadium and fan base. Seeking additional investment because, even though they made a profit with a million dollar budget this year, going pro is a big jump.

Owned by a crazy person who does not have the money to go D2 and who would be trying to share a market with a well-financed pro club with its own stadium in a good location and a head start.

Bristle when you call them amateurs, even though they are. Drew 866 a game with a high of 1,310 in their first season. Would be competing with a potential USL club that is angling for Dillon.

Another club whose support is unclear. Their owner is a successful local businesswoman, which is cool. Again, big jump, though.

Heard they drew well in 2016. They never respond when you ask them and never report figures that I have ever seen. In a market with a stadium that's workable, but where pro soccer has failed twice before. (At least once because they were owned by a scam artist.)

There is absolutely no way on Earth all of those teams play in the NASL in 2018. None.

Playoffs and championships are meaningless if the team folds this offseason. So the off the field stuff is always going to overshadow what’s going on on the field.

As someone who lives in the Boston area, and who knows the people who run Boston FC......I would say long shot is being kind.

They need those pesky "investors with a lot of money to burn" types we heear so much about from the dreamers here, and a viable stadium.

Other than that they are good to go!

Now, would I mind seeing a team have success in Boston proper to put some pressure on the Kraft's? Damn straight I would......but since I don't engage in fantasy I'll just wait and see on this.
