Every year I ask - why so many points for the final? You can be a idiot as long as you pick the final winner. You might as well have a contest on picking the winner - forget the rest.

I think a more reasonable scoring system would be (or something along these lines)

    Rules:

    First Round - Two points
    Second Round - Four points
    Third Round - Six points
    Fourth Round - Eight points
    Fifth Round - Ten points
    The Champion - Twelve points

This scoring system is closer to the scoring of the NCAA basketball pools that I usually participate.

As the one who kept the points last year, I think that the same point system should be kept. Not that it matters a whole lot. By the way, I will keep the points again, if at last resort no one else can.

Just remember to post winners for the entire tournament, and if two teams meet with the same initials, make sure that there is a way to identify them. Last year there was UWM vs. UWM and that made it a little difficult.

    First Round:
FIU, UNC, Wis-Milwaukee, Col of Charleston, Memphis, Duke, Portland, American, Seton Hall, Northwestern, Boston U, Northridge, Cal, Tulsa, Uconn, Akron.

    2nd Round:

If I remember correctly, these three have to pick the D-II tournament this year due to their poor showing.

Two good reason's for keeping the old scoring system:
    1) It's always been this way as long as anyone can remember. No compelling reason to change.

    2) Are your powers of prognostication better if you correctly predict the MOST IMPORTANT item - the winner - or, a larger number of victories overall? I'm going with the winner.

PS. You're always welcome to add up everyone's points with your scoring system and proclaim an 'unofficial' winner.
