it's not that shocking to me. they haven't really produced many players the last 10-15 years. i mean FFS beasley has been used this cycle many times. 38 yo tim howard is their best goalkeeper, and if donavon were still playing there's no doubt he'd be starting. their league is so watered down from having old ass european guys and expanding it to the point that semi-professional guys are on the field and you wonder why the domestic guys suck so much compared to when the league was much smaller. i mean look at what the league has done to GDS in terms of competitiveness, it broke him as a player. also central american teams always seemed to bend over for them and play mexico like they were playing a world cup final. at some point in the last four years i think they realized US was pretty average and finally started playing the same against them
