Honest question, what happens next? When do we know what happens with the coach, the federation president, new coaching staff, player retirements, do we have matches scheduled?

In an away match where all you needed was a draw. Our best defender was on the bench and we had no Defensive #6. Coaching seminar on what not to do.

Klinsmann was right. This group of players was a bunch of softies. Give them some orange slices and Capri Suns, and send them home. The US needs some warriors.

A bit said we'll likely never see Clint in a US shirt again. Just a travesty this is how he went out.

Great NT career Clint! You were a baller at your best. Thanks for all you've done for us, a legend.

I feel awful for Dempsey and Pulisic right now. Next summer should have been Clint's swan song and Pulisic's coming out party.

We can always hope for a degrading tweet from the White House for Gulati ...that would be some salve. It's possible.

He subbed on at the half and had more shots than both starting forwards who played 90+. He hit a post, and actually attempted to play with some urgency and tempo. When he was played through I thought he was going to save us, and credit to that defender with the last ditch tackle.

It's a damn shame this is the end of his story for the NT.

He will have another one. If we miss more than one - well, sorry.

The team should've at least fought for him.

Didn't watch - DVR - will delete. Disappointed. Not sad. Disappointed that I will not get to watch the US in a World Cup with my children next summer.

At least Argentina had a player that decided the team was going to the WC. That kind of heart doesn't grow here apparently.

A team that played so well 4 days ago against a superior opponent, that then plays with NO urgency vs a much inferior team (with no home opposition crowd to speak of), can be pinned on only one fault. Mental attitude.

That is the fault of the coach, and the captain, who are supposed to be emotional and psychological leaders.

For me, an expat living abroad in Asia, the USMNT was the last American institution I had left, the only thing remaining that gave me pride and joy at being an American, the fact we had a team that could at the very least could qualify in COMCACAF and make it to the World Cup. I always knew in the back of my mind there might come a time we would slip up at an away match in some miserable cricket pitch in the Caribbean and now that it has happened I'm numb. Know this, Mexico and Costa Rica, once they heard we were losing, took the foot off of the gas. I hope we can repay those b^^tches back someday down the line. Four years is a long time to wait, get comfortable.

I have been an avid fan since 2001. I have never seen a World Cup without the US. I won't be moving my schedule around to watch any games come summer.

What is the point of having Dax and Benny on the roster if they aren't starting this game. I thought we would put a ton of midfielders out there and strangle this game to death for a result. So stupid.

Bruce started 3 forwards, and 2 winger when we needed a result.

I know everyone is thinking big picture and can't be bothered to analyze the game we just watched but I would like to take a moment to say F*** you Omar Gonzalez.

He’s such a prick. His press talk makes me want to slap him. He actually said “ well it’s good for CONCACAF ...”

You know what Bruce? Shut up .

Now all we need is for Trump to find out...

That's about the only thing worse than not qualifying at this point.

This whole group needs to be called out for that pathetic effort. Winning second balls is about being in the right spot sometimes but mostly about heart. We didn't win any in the first half. We didn't win any against Costa Rica.

Runs were not made off the ball. We stand and let someone else work instead of you. Speaking of the ball, it doesn't move. The first half was the worst half of soccer I have ever seen in terms of ability and heart.

I'm selfish and I'm hurting but I'm mostly furious. I don't want to wait over 5 years to watch us play in the World Cup. Pulisic misses out on his first try. Dempsey will not get to play in another World Cup, nor will Howard.

It's also the fault of fatigue. There was no reason to not to inject fresh, hungry players into the starting 11. Bruce has been rotating consistently home and away. What got into him?
