Argentina haven't beat Ecuador away in the last three qualifiers they've played there according to the Guardian. All still up in the air.

Yes, yes, such a pleasure to watch football without the biggest stars and best teams.

Sometimes I wonder what attracted you lot to football in the first place. Or maybe you're just so scared that you can't bear seeing your favorite team play against any real opposition? That'd be cute if it wasn't so pathetic.

The SA qualifiers are super intense.. The last game decides the fate of 3 teams out of 5 who still have a chance to go to Russia. I actually think Argentina can still qualify if they tie depending on the other results.
Watched the colombia vs paraguay game last night. What a snoozefest - Colombia is so slow. They had so much trouble moving the ball forward, Cuadrado is the only one who tried. And can someone explain why is James in such a bad physical form? - is like he does not train and just came back from partying for a month.

Carvalho sentenced to 7 months in prison as well by Madrid courts. Messi got 21 months.

It's getting more and more likely that Ronaldo will get more than 24 months (since he embezzled for much more than Messi and Carvalho), and once it crosses that treshold, you actually have to go to prison.

Messi & Ronaldo cases are actually very different, there is zero percent chance CR goes to prison I hate to disappoint you.

BTW you are absolutely one of the worst posters around here. From day 1 you've been around here you've offered nothing more than bias nonsense.

Argentina isn't one of the best teams now. Well, okay… even the 6th-best team in CONMEBOL can get through a World Cup group-of-death as Uruguay/Chile (take your pick) proved four years ago. But what I mean is that there are no flukes in CONMEBOL qualifying. After 18 games the cream rises to the top, so if you’re at the top you’re not the cream.

That said, they aren’t in any worse trouble than any one else not named Brasil or Uruguay, so still a 60% chance of qualifying.

Maybe, maybe not.. but if you look back at what happened in 2002 you can't rule them out of being a contender for the WC even if they aren't really a favourite atm. It would be funny to see them go out but it would hurt the quality of the tournament.

Argentina is like England around ten years ago. Mediocre team still living off the hype it’s players make in domestic leagues.

I for one will laugh my ass off if they somehow manage to fluff this. I am already enjoying the Messi fanboys who seem to think that when the going gets tough, the fringe players should rise to the occasion and win the game and not Messi.

Ecuador will want to play their hearts out and go out with a bang! I doubt they will roll over. If they do - embarrassing.

Scoring 6 goals in a span of 10 days, being named a captain of a big NT and sending his team to WC isn't incredible? Messi's dick will get sucked if he scores in a fcking draw next game and Argentina goes to WC.

Well, if Messi scores on Tuesday and Argentina go to the WC, how would that be less than what Kane did recently?

Dude Messi has won 4 Cl and 4 Balon d'Or. Harry Kane is English and scored goals agains APOEL and Slovenia, it's not even a debate that Kane is the better player.

So Italy into the play-offs. Tbh I don't think they should have much problems qualifying, allthough if Macedonia can keep them from winning.....

No Turkey at the WC. :D

chances of Argentina not qualifying are zero. FIFA/UEFA wants it, all the refs are already bribed, I'm sure it will be a none-existing penalty in the 89 minute.

I agree, a World Cup isn't a world cup until Germany defeats Argentina. It's a classic.
