The game versus Brazil can be drawn or won (stranger things have happened), but the players have to play like they did in Barranquilla against Colombia in November last year. Basically, they need defensive organisation and pressure to start in midfield to give the last line a hand. When there is no creativity in midfield, there are few other choices. This would force our forwards to play on the counter attack, which shouldn't be too difficult. It's the bare minimum.

I don't see it guys. I'm here as a fan, based on emotion more than rationality. I just want a dignified ending for this generation...

We all do, but it is difficult to ignore reality.

No creo.

Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but i don't remember feeling this tense over our national team in quite a while, and that includes the last two Copas.

I'm exactly the opposite. I don't think I've ever cared less since that time we were bottom of the qualifiers for the 2002 qualies. Hell, I'm not even gonna watch the match, I'm tuning in for the Argentina v Peru match, it's gonna be epic.

I feel like even if Chile win (and that is a big if) it will still be a shitty match. I'll watch the highlights (or low-lights) later.

Emotional roller coaster on this game, and by the looks of it, the Colombia game as well!

At this stage, Paraguay's form and Chile's record in Brazil both suggest that Venezuela and Chile are likely to lose. Having said that, I think that Chile (even without Vidal) is the most likely of the two to earn a point. It will be very difficult, of course.

I was always on the side that Chile needed a point in Brazil regardless of any outcome from the other games.

The Paraguay result really hurt you. It reduces the chances that you can qualify with a loss to Brazil. The most definitive way of qualifying is getting a win or draw now.

I'd like to think that we won't throw the game to screw Argentina, but you never know. I'm sure Argentina would do it to us if the situation was reversed. They've already screwed us in the past.

From 3rd to 7th place all have more or less equal chances to qualify. This is the toughest qualifier I've ever seen, at least in conmebol. As for Brazil, chile has to play its usual game and see if we can get a result. No use in trying to park the bus now, being that we never really do that. We should try to win, or at least tie. A defeat at this point will most likely kick us out of the World Cup. This will be a difficult game. Alexis, Medel, and Bravo have to be on their A game on Tuesday.

We are dead if we park the bus. What I liked about Sampaoli's time in charge was that Chile could essentially lock its opponent in place with very organised and measured midfield pressure, meaning that the midfield could be unrelenting with and without the ball. This was a key feature, for me, which allowed clean sheets in two CA finals. This isn't taking anything away from the back four; it's just that the midfield balance then was great.

This is what Chile needs against Brazil, in my opinion. The issue is that Vidal is out, and even if Aránguiz is back, he will not be 100%.

We have to defend with possession, attack in small numbers so we are not caught on the counter and not rush the game, cool passing out of the back is gonna be essential, hoofing it will only mean the ball will come back at us the following minute. Remember, a draw guarantees the 5th play-off spot. We can't afford to be pushed back into our own box, if that happens we are toast and we can easily lose by more than 1 goal which would be terrible.

In the most likely scenario that we lose, we can beef up our chances if we only lose by 1 goal. As a draw between Ecuador and Argentina as well as anything but a draw between Peru and Colombia will get us that play-off spot regardless (I'm leaning towards a Peruvian victory though). None of those results would be a surprise... and it's too risky for Peru to play for the draw because an Argentinian victory or a Chilean draw could leave them out.

In all of these scenarios I'm assuming Paraguay is gonna beat Venezuela at home. If Venezuela can help us I'd be grateful but I'm not counting on it, Venezuela's run has to end at some point and Paraguay are not gonna drop the ball at this stage after all their hard work to climb back into the mix. I think it will be a close match, but Paraguay is gonna take it with another last minute goal.
