It all worked out in the end and you can't argue with the result, but it's bizarre to say the least that Lingard sees the pitch before Martial when the match is still in doubt.
Awful performance, Mourinho will never learn and I do not think we win the league with him, happy to be proven wrong.
Don't forget the multiple sitters we missed. Everton had two half chances you would always expect De Gea to save. A fair result, in truth.
Poor performance overall, but we did do well to put away our chances late in the match. Amazing that we managed to peg back City on GD.
but if you agree he is best at AM even if only OK at that then he should be up there if he plays then yes?
I'd like to say moving forward until we are ready to try to bring Shaw back into the picture Ashley Young should be our starting LB. So much better than Darmian and Blind.
Scoreline flatters us. It was a poor performance for 75 of those 90 minutes. Nice for the confidence to get another 4, and we probably did deserve to win...but I saw worrying issues during that game.
agreed. i just didn't feel particularly comfortable with him sitting deep when Everton looked to counter
Completely. I actually thought Rooney had a very good game for them. Caused our backline all sorts of problems, and were it not for De Gea he would have had at least one goal.
Yes and no. He was dispossessed several times but his pace did cause problems. I have no problem with Lingard as a squad man, but the previous point was comparing Lingard's impact to Martial's impact. And surely there can be no question that Martial's impact was greater in the few minutes he played than the 20 minutes or so Lingard played.
Last season this kind of performance usually resulted in a 1-1 draw. Today: a 4-0 win. It's all about the wins. Imagine what we're capable of once we find our rhythm and improve our finishing. Could be scary. But let's see how we perform against top clubs.
How long have you followed football? Serious question, because you're speaking as if we've never seen this from Jose in his previous clubs. Time-and-again... I'm not a fan of his style, which is why I was hoping we'd go a different route post Van Gaal, but it absolutely amazes me that all you people who were clamoring for Jose then are dissing his style now. When this is typical from him. And making the claim we can not win the title with him, ever is simply talking out of yer a@@. What is so shocking or different about Jose that you did not know about and has won him 3 titles in England alone??!? For better or worse, this is how he wins.
At some point, some of you will need to accept that Jose knows how to coach ffs. Everybody knows we're missing a wide threat - Jose has complained about it all summer. He's getting a lot from an unbalanced offense
