You guys won't believe what is going to happen to your team. Basically, there are not many coaches out there that would work for Nick. Therefore, the options are limited. So basically we are going to have to settle for Tab Ramos as our next coach. I have heard this from several sources. The main problem is that the players on the team don't like him at all and don't want him around. Expect the announcement in the next two weeks. Your GM has already told a few sources that he wants Tab. However, the reality is that no one wants to work for this guy. Bradley and Sarachan won't come within 75 miles of this guy.
I know some of you won't believe this, but it is certainly the truth. I have heard this from current players and from some people in the MLS offices. Sorry to inform you but I thought that you people deserve to know what kind of a mess your team will be turning into with your new coach.

Seems possible. Tab has always been sort of a thorn on the side for the rest of the players. And having him as coach is no better than having OZ as coach. People will still be pissed at the manager and conflicts will arise.

Doesn't surpirse me that Bradley and Sarachan dont wanna work for Nick. I think it is well documented that Nick is hated by everyone in MLS(including some of his staff) maybe he needs to realize that if he wants this team to succeed he's going to have to step down. If AEG still want him to work on the stadium they should just give him power over that and no "team" related powers.

assume whatever you want. I was just telling you guys what I have heard. Ask any of the players and you will find out the same thing. No one will work for Nick and Tab is going to be your new coach because of it.

Anyone with inside information would be aware that there isn't much love between Tab and the Metros management. He's not in line to take over the team. This is a total wind-up.

    1. Tab has no experience as a coach, on any level.

    2. If hired, Tab would have to coach players who were his teammates just months earlier. This is a recipe for disaster.

    3. It is debatable as to whether Tab has the temperment and maturity to be a coach.

There may be potential coaching candidates out there who will be scared away from the Metros' job by the presence of Nick, but these are people who already have a pretty good position (i.e. Arena, Dave Masur, Ray Reid, Bob Bradley). But there are plenty of people out there for whom becoming coach of the MetroStars will be a big step up, both financially and in terms of prestige. One of these people will take the job and roll the dice that they can work with Nick. This person could be an MLS assistant, a college coach, or maybe an A-League coach.

Agreed. There's a better chance of OZ being re-signed.

No, there's a better chance that Firmani would be re-signed.

    Tab? Tab Ramos?

A walking cancer, an awful individual and a racist. It don't get no better than that.

Team chemistry will officially be a thing of the past the day he takes over.

I don't think it'll happen. Why? Sackless Sakiewicz is probably going to be the next one out the door (sooner rather than later).

There was an incident in a match where he called another player the "N" word. It didn't happen recently, either.

The player who was the recipient of the invective happens to be a very good friend of mine.

For what it's worth, partly because of Ramos' status (former Nat), MLS did a nice job of sweeping the issue under the rug, too.

I think Tab is more suited for Garber's job or Arena's job. Coaching the Metros is small potatoes.

Tab is an ass, I used to like him very much as a player. But after meeting him and speaking to a former player he's just a piece of shite.

I have attended many Metros practices, and I never seen anything but respect and freindship between Tab Ramos and the rest of the players. Having said that, Tab should not be named Head Coach. The perfect solution is to hire Dava Sarchan as Head Coach and sign Tab as his assistant. Any College coach like Reasso or Masur would be crazy to leave the security of a college position to work for Nick S. I cannot see the likes of Bob Bradley amd Nick S. getting along. However Dave Sarchan can get along with strong personality types ex. Arena.

Tab will not be the coach

Tab has no intention of coaching any time soon. He will spend time with his family, maybe do some television work, and perhaps look into coaching a few years from now. He will not be the Metros coach this year, or anytime soon for that matter.

Billy Walsh has some coaching experience, he should get the job. Lord knows his playing career is over.

I wish I could go one day without reading the name Billy Walsh. Why does everyone insist on bringing up such terrible memories of poor soccer for me?

While it seems a bit far fetched, Reality Check's post has some ring of truth. We will see soon enough, I guess.

I like the guy who asked for a "source".

And by the way, I don't think it's pat because he's not as good a writer. I will also say that the little dimwit HAS had accurate inside information from time to time.

I'm glad to see MartyF's reply. I have seen nothing but good things with Tab. He was injured too much, but every time I saw him he was a class act, and if you read enough about the metros site, you will see he does the promo work.
With that said, for the most part the stars aren't the best coaches...I'm still hoping for Dooley

It's usually part of every player's contract that they make a certain number of "appearances", so it's not exactly like he's volunteering his time.
