Yeah, I'm not sure who is gonna play out left. I think Reiss Nelson will be playing at the right wingback position though. I'd rather see Nelson in the front 3 but since Theo hasn't gotten any game time..

Knowing Wenger, he might throw one our our RBs out on the left. Sometimes our lineup is like the Spanish Inquisition sketch from Monty Python.

Playing on Thursday is not that bad. Going to a bar transitions much better into the weekend than drinking on a Tuesday.

Arsenal: Ospina, Bellerin, Holding, Mertesacker, Monreal, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Iwobi, Alexis, Walcott, Giroud

Subs: Macey, Wilshere, Mustafi, The Jeff, Kolasinac, Akpom, Nelson

Interesting to see how the team lines up. Are we going to see Bellerin or AMN23 at LWB, or will we see a 4-2-3-1?

    Edit: added subs

I hope we stick with the mostly second string squad all the way through.

It's mildly depressing to play on Thusdays...

Hour delay folks. Not conducive to my schedule. Europa is the gift that keeps on giving I guess.

Mainland niles played rw for Ipswich so why is Wenger playing him lwb? I always thought he would be a great b2b midfielder

I'm not minding it as much as I thought I would. The constant exits to Bayern were getting old, and good or bad, tomorrow is Friday. If we ever make it back to the CL we should push for a Wed-Thu CL.

20k Koln fans showed up and very few of them have tickets. Think there also may be some issues with those fans bringing flares with them. Stadium crew / police trying to figure out how to deal with the masses. Delaying to make sure paying fans can all get in before match time.

Apparently they rushed the barricades at the entrance and caused a ton of problems. The shot of Giroud warming up inside the stadium suggest the game will go on at 4pm, but Koln will likely have their next game behind closed doors.

The CL is pointless to us if the best we can do is make it through the group stage and then get thrashed. We should treat the EL like the League Cup. If our second string go far - great, if not, that's fine too.

Why? We aren't winning the PL? Top 4 is sketchy at best so let's win the Europa league. I want champions league football because it seems we need it from a financial standpoint in both revenue and attracting players. We are going down hill with no brakes under Wenger but if we consolidate CL for a coupon of seasons we may keep a semblance of a decent squad for a new manager

Between AC Milan and some 3rd place CL teams, winning the Europa League will be tough. We shouldn't field anything more than a second string team in these games. Given the contract situations of almost half our squad, getting CL football next year is not going to matter all that much. We are in for a multi year rebuild and a season back in the CL won't change that.

Chambers still injured. About to start working his way back with the U23's I've read.
