Do you mean buying Thorgan Hazard, on whom we made a profit when we sold him?

    Transfer Summary From guardian:

We’ll be wrapping up the blog shortly, so here’s a summary of what’s happened today:

    • Liverpool are prepared to spend up to £150m on Thomas Lemar and Virgil van Dijk, although their respective clubs, Monaco and Southampton, are reluctant to sell. In the Lemar deal, Liverpool may send Divock Origi on loan as part of a potential swap deal.
    • Also at Liverpool, they have rejected a bid worth £22m plus £3m in add-ons from Crystal Palace for Mamadou Sakho. They want the total deal to be worth £30m.
    • The Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City deal is alive, and it could include Raheem Sterling going to Arsenal. The mooted move might be £20m plus Sterling for Sanchez, who of course has only a year of his contract left to run.
    • Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain does seem to be off to Chelsea, although at the time of writing that hasn’t been confirmed.
    • Kieran Gibbs turned down a potential move to Watford, but he could be on his way to West Brom instead, for around £7m. Arsenal are also apparently interested in Jonny Evans, who remains a target for Manchester City and Leicester City.
    • The Baggies look like they’ll be busy in the coming days: they’re set to sign Josef de Souza from Fenerbahce for £10.6m, and they might even have Eliaquim Mangala lined up as a replacement for Evans.
    • Stoke have completed the signing of Kevin Wimmer from Tottenham for around £18m, are hopeful of signing Fabian Delph and are looking to rid themselves of midfielder Gianni Imbula, possibly to Monaco.

No matter what he does for the rest of his life, Gibbs to me will always be the guy who sort of gifted United a ticket back to the CL in 2009 when he slipped, allowing Park to open the score the score in the second leg of that semi final.
Arsenal and the Emirates were so jacked up that day too. Thought they were going to beat United and Park, then Ronaldo with that 40m freekick, shut that place down within 20-25mins. Beautiful.

According to The beeb, City have submitted a 50m cash only bid to Arsenal.

Poor Sane. He's going to get ********ed for playing time.

The Ox turns down Chelsea. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Apparently he doesn't want to be a WB and thinks that would be Conte's plan.

He does have a point though. In the past season at least, he's been far more effective playing in the middle of the park for Arsenal, than he's been at WB.
And it is likely that is where Conte will want to play him.
With Pool having put in bids for Lemar in vain so far, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them try for him now. He'd probably be getting his wish under Klopp at least.

Deadline day could actually be very interesting this year, with lots of big potential moves still very much in the cards. Even from United's perspective also.

It stinks of poor planning on Chelsea's part.

Why wait the entire window, only to launch a bid for a player right at the end when you haven't even done your homework to confirm he wants to join you?

Planning wise, Chelsea's summer has been seriously disrupted apparently. The indecision over Conte's status and him being at odds with the board for a while, are partly to blame.
Ox is looking to leave Arsenal because of his ambition to win (he did turn down a substantial contract with Arsenal after all): pretty sure he would have gone to Chelsea. He probably does not want to play at WB either (realizing it's not the position that gets the best of his abilities either).
At this point, Conte is desperate for bodies as he knows that they need some kind of depth going into this season, if they're to have any chance for success and are probably a bit desperate as well at this point.

I haven't heard a lot lately on the Costa to Atleti front...I wonder if that deal will go through, and if it doesn't what do Chelsea do with him?
