whats so filthy is how easy he makes it look. the goal against bayern, this mornings- there doesnt appear to be any pressure to him at all. ice freaking cold. leisurely.
Earns a "1-" from Reviersport, which I presume is like an "A+". http://www.reviersport.de/356470---bvb-noten-starker-auftritt-pulisic.html Google Translate:
Even Navas might not be better. Navas is the weakest starting element in the Real Madrid team, and I don't think he ranks in the top 5 of his position in the world, maybe not even top 10. He's a definite outlier at Real Madrid, he's more of the caliber of one of their back ups at another position. He's a good player, but guess what? So is Pulisic. If the expectation is that Dembele will go straight into the Barcelona team, I don't know why Pulisic couldn't get significant playing time at one of the two Spanish giants right now. And I know there's a difference between Real Madrid and Barcelona, but who are you giving minutes if you had the choice? Vazquez or Pulisic? I think its clearly Pulisic. And then I think he could also take some minutes from Asensio, although the two year age difference there might still give Asensio the advantage.
If Pulisic is on Barca right now, he's the second best player (Suarez is injured) that they have in a front three.
Seems like it. One of the best quotes I ever ready about Michael Jordan is that he's one of the few athletes to ever "out hype the hype". Not comparing the GOAT in another sport to CP directly -- but all this kid does is out hype the hype. A month or so shy of his 19th birthday and he's doing this? He's already one of the best players in the Bundesliga -- period.
Well, I don't want to interrupt all your "Pulisic to XY" discussions, but I would like to mention that Dortmund does rarely sell a key player if his contract still runs two years (which is the case for Pulisic after the World Cup). 2019 it is, not sooner. Well, except he pulls a "Dembele". The last key player that was sold quicker was Mladen Petric which was ages ago. All other key players either left after their contract expired (Lewandowski), or due to a release clause (which Dortmund has abolished two years ago - Götze, Sahin) or only one year left on the contract (Hummels, Kagawa, Mkhitaryan). Aubameyang would have been the exception this year because Dortmund agreed to this since he showed his loyalty by signing a long-term contract for a relatively low salary, but even he's still here.
I would like to see this, but I just don't think the French League offers the same level of competitiveness as the BL or La Liga, except for CL play.
I love how much Auba seems to enjoy playing soccer, and the burgeoning partnership with Pulisic. I can hardly even imagine what Dembele is thinking as he watches Pulisic take his place rather easily. Auba is being asked to do more under Bosz's system and he was great today as well.
I'll just give my opinion, but I don't want him to leave just to leave. Even if he became the best player at Borussia Dortmund in a few years, I don't think thats a bad gig. He could become a club legend and they are always pretty good, so he'd be playing big matches. Also would be a cool story that he came up through their academy. If he gets an offer from Barcelona or Real Madrid, I don't think you can turn those clubs down. Only two clubs I think he should eventually consider a transfer to. If its PSG, Man United, Man City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, I think he should stay.
scanned through the replies and was surprised to see bradley's name positively mentioned at least a few times. cool and interesting to see fans of other teams put him in their top 3-5 concacaf when many of us usmnt fans dont even rate him top 3-5 on our national team. dont think i'd call pulisic the best concacaf player yet, but he's quickly getting there and definitely in the conversation. at 18 years old.
Something which happens to the great players in sports is the speed of the game slows down, the calculations at speed ramp up. We're seeing that with Pulisic. Game is slowing down for him. He's about to explode this season. There's just a new level of composure and confidence to his play and decision making.
The cross he sent into to Castro (who I like but he stunk today) that Castro whiffed on is an example of what you are talking about. Last year he probably would have just fired it in with little accuracy and hoped for the best. This year he's taking his time and picking out his options.
That assist was unbelievably difficult. Half foot closer to the goal and Auba won't reach it, half foot farther and the ball doesn't reach Auba. He should have figured out exact place and time where they could meet.
Two incredible athletic talents meeting, in Auba and Pulisic. When you think about all the hours or practice that put together such a connection it's really amazing. Some David Foster Wallace on Tennis shit really. Sports as beauty.
saw a funny twitter post where they covered Dembele's 1st E with a masking tape U to spell Dumbele... Time will tell.
No. I thought so too on the one angle, but there's another angle which clearly show the ball goes between the 2 defenders.
From the German highlight/wrap-up show: "Who needs Dembele? We need Pulisic!" Kid turned heads today. Hopefully it's just a start.
