23' min and Arsenal looking the better overall but still susceptible at the back. ie: Situation normal. Welbeck looking really good and threatening, IMO.
i would consider it a logical explanation if last week wasn't really the first time he'd ever tried that configuration. more than anything, i think it's because oxlade-chamberlain actually became more interested and lively after being moved there last week.
i feel like it's a legitimate shout. a foul doesn't or shouldn't have to be just on the leg to be a valid one. regardless, the fact that ramsey tried to play football instead of flopping meant it got zero consideration.
I think the Bellerin incident was more of a shout (though not a stone cold PK). I agree that leg to leg contact isn't the only thing that leads to a PK, obviously, but shoulder-to-shoulder should be given more leeway.
We don't even play the cbs we have now; for some reason our manager would rather play fullback there.
Not a horrible half for us. Couple decent shots and three penalty shouts. Some more of a shout than others. Mariner is having a poor game. His calls are not consistent. I think Xhaka is having a rough match. He doesn't seem to pair well with Ramsey (who loves drifting forward) and left to control so much in front of our defenders alone.
oh, the bellerin one was a definite shout. in fact, BTsports had a referee review it and he confirmed that, on replay, it was a definite penalty but (and i agree with him) in real-time, it was easy to miss and he would have not given it either. i agree that there is and should be some leeway with shoulder-to-shoulder contact - it's a contact sport, after all - but he was not playing the ball at all and went purely for the shouldering him over. i'm not arguing that it SHOULD have been a penalty - i'm not even that convinced that it is - just the fact that it wasn't even considered simply because ramsey played to the whistle instead of flopping like many would have done.
I think a lot of fans wanted to see Ox on the right. When I saw the lineup, I was hoping these two would maybe switch sides at some point in the game to mix things up
Yeah xhaka been poor I like our attacking movement Ozil is playing well, looks very mobile and passing well
just have to appreciate that foul called on ramsey with zero contact on butland. well done, andre. well done.
