Damn it Tarbel, you know you can grab some of those crosses instead of punching them all out randomly.
As a GK, I'd be telling my defenders to stop getting clowned as the play continued. I hated getting clowned when I played.
Lucky to be level at the half. Need to figure out how to organize the defense or this will get ugly in the next 45.
Being somewhat familiar with 'coachspeak', Peter Vermes is ready to kiss his goal scorer' s bum being relieved to be level at HT. Despite all their "possession", the Quakes should still be leading at this point. Going into the second half, we will really see what kind of coach CL is.
Some of you are being unfair. Ceren isn't able to dictate play the way we would like it, and no on else has stepped up to put their foot on the ball and try maintain possession. It's not Domball (is this the new stick we're using?), it looks like a tired team who need a fresher midfield, and/or TT to continue his growth and own the ball in the middle. We're away from home against a pretty damn good team. Simmer down folks.
We have plenty of people back, almost too many, but the communication is poor between defenders...still working out the kinks for the channel pick ups...wingback and outside CB fullback and central CB...Blessing blew by Imperiale for their goal.....way too easy. Tommy is very deep...we need to gamble a bit a get him up higher. He has to orchestrate the counter. Tough to do from 5 yards in front of your box. Affolter looks pretty solid...maybe too early for him to play in the middle? or Imperiale to slow to cover the edge...probably both.
Couldn't do my usual three hour round trip into San Jose for the viewing party, but we're at our neighborhood pub, using our plastic Avaya Quakes cups, enjoying the tangerine brew--Cajun Style!
