Masara left Roma to join his daddy at Inter, who will take his place? I read few names awhile ago but I can't remember any.
What exactly would he have done at Roma since Monchi arrived? Handle business side? We have so much turnover in that regard that I'm not sure what these guys are actually doing?
That's the world of football for you. Whenever a club brings in a big(ish) name figure on the management/business side, they normally have to hire the people they trust the most as well. If you want Mourinho as your manager, you'll have to agree to take Rui Faria along as well. I'm sure Monchi might have brought in a person he trusts greatly to Roma as well. Yeah but most big clubs generally have a whole host of "directors" who don't really do much.
I'm not sure how the internal structure works, but as 2nd man the job is probably sharing the workload with Monchi, he can't be everywhere and negotiate for everyone at the same time.
Monchi actually wanted to keep Masara and spoke highly of him, but Masara decided to leave. The 2 most likely candidates were a spanish guy and a DS from a small Italian team.
Football Italia (I know, I know) and SportItalia reporting that Juve have a deal with Manolas. No deal yet with Roma. Don't do this, Monchi.
I know this is just Twitter talk, but what if they inserted Cuardado in the operation? I'd be tempted, although I'd rather Rugani/Caldara.
You can't say that before you see how Mahrez and the new CB perform, Manolas is good but not the best CB in the world.
It's almost as if we have a DS who specializes in replacing seemingly irreplaceable players with equal output for cheaper
We may get a guy who ends up better than Manolas, but they're gonna have half of a preseason to acclimate now, and it's highly unlikely Mahrez sticks around long if we do get him. So our chance to justify spending so much to make Mahrez the piece that puts us in the title push this year is far more risky if we unload Manolas. Speaking strictly from a season expectation angle.
Monchi signed some grown ass men this summer, Moreno, Kolarov, Gonalons, one thing we won't lack is focus
we still havent replaced rudiger ...or rumored to anyone that can replace him. if we sell manolas especially after palotta said he wont be sold. ill accept all the criticism im getting from friends how much of joke weve become
Rudiger played as RB and 3rd CB for us last year, he was replaced by Karsdrop (RB) and Moreno (3rd CB).
Which fans are calling Roma a joke? The ones getting bailed out by Chinese money, or the ones who sold their best player because of a halftime handbag fight?
we also had zero depth last year, plus injuries he was forced to play rb. fazio also helped that he did well. we lose manolas and were relying on just fazio and a fourth option defender in Moreno who is far from impressive. manolas gone we need 2 new starting calibre cbs to rotate with fazio. theres no debating this. and please dont say juan jesus can play cb too lol
