I wish I hadn't given up my position.

I'd be interested in coming back this year. I would vote for google docs for this year, and then evaluate alternatives at the end of the season to see what is best.

We have had a player drop out of Sand - who would be the next player to promote up?

I mean, I was in VSR when I left :p The place should realistically go to the highest finisher in Dust who is returning.

I recently posted in the VSR discussion thread regarding the use of this new chip. As it stands, I am not sure logistically how it can be used in the draft format we play? This chip provides unlimited free transfers for one week but once that gameweek has finished, you revert back to your previous weeks team. Therefore, if you are using this chip, you can't simply amend the google doc draft sheet with the changes you make as others should not be able to take the players you discarded, cause you haven't really.

You could use the chip and leave your current players on the draft sheet, but picking from only players that are not already selected will almost give you no advantage, I'd be surprised if you swapped out more than 2/3 players. Also, how would we record the players that have been taken? We will likely all be using this chip at the same time which also adds further complications. If we are going down this route, then I think the logistics need sorting out now before it crops up mid season, I can't see how it can work...

I think this chip will prove popular and I would expect it to remain in future seasons. It would make sense to me that all 3/4 leagues do the same thing.

    I think the best option is one of two;

    1. We agree not to touch this chip and just ignore it. Thats boring but keeps it simple and fair.

    2. We agree that during this gameweek, you can use any player you like, regardless of whether they are on other teams. You just need to announce you are using the chip in usual transfer thread. This would mean you do not have to change the draft sheet and keeps it fair, no one player can snatch all the double gameweek players as soon as the new week begins. It would also be fun and I can see most players using for a big double gameweek. It would make it a real draft chip. This option to me seems by far the best one.

Either way, I would like clarity on how this chip will be implemented into the game before the season starts, and I think we should all do the same thing.

Very excellent point - the simplest true to draft idea would be just to scrap the whole chip altogether. The fun way would be the one week free for all where the draft teams were irrelevant. In saying that, I would hate to see the Title or promotion / relegation decided on someone doing better at picking form the whole FPL .. when this is a Draft comp.

I vote the Chip is Void:D

Ban the chip .... Free for all adds mass confusion.

    Place your bets.

Chips are fattening but taste good.

Let's put some weighty points on.... for free.

    I'm all for the chip.

I can't see any confusion, as it's purely a ghost team for one week and our old team returns as it was.

We could all play it on the same gameweek - Gameweek 37 - for possible double gameweek points for all.

I see this a challenge where all managers get an equal crack of the whip.

If someone gets promoted because of it, so be it. That's playing the game.

    :devilish:

    Either ban the chip

or if used it has to be for only free agent players, posted first come first serve in regular way in transfer thread and only one player per one team team as always, except the players dropped can't be picked up but only if one clearly says it is chip week. If a player says it is chip week but doesn't use chip then the dropped are open game

Enough time has passed since this was posted, it would seem not using the chip is the majority vote. I would suggest posting this decision in your league threads to be clear to all, one person using it would be annoying to resolve.

    Draft on!

It would have been nice if Fantasy Managers agreed to all use it on the same Gameweek - ie GW37 - when everyone gets to pick who they like on a probable double gameweek.

This would not really create a problem, as we would all get our original teams back for the final gameweek. In fact, it would be a challenge.

As a total ban is not acceptable, Lords of Luzhniki will use it on a surprise Gameweek when perhaps a little fun is needed; challenge, or not

    :)

How is that going to work? Depending upon your choices you could have a greatly increased score than you normally would for that GW and possibly an unfair advantage over everyone else who isn't using the chip.

Be prepared for massive penalties as the majority has ruled against it

I would prefer we use it also, but majority rules. As long as the game is fair, that is my main issue. You can enjoy using it on your open team, don't be a plonker!
