I heard Liverpool was looking for 30m from Crystal Palace. Regardless of his price tag , I don't want him in Rome.
Roma making this kind of signing could spell a huge change in mentality ... he may not win the scudetto for us but he shows that we are willing to try and win NOW
I get that you have concerns that he doesn't have as much experience as Woj, but I'm sure Monchi & co. had a good look at him and decided he's ready to be #1. Which is why they decided against making Woj permanent or bringing in another cheaper alternative. Also at the end of the day, while Woj was good, he did have his fair share of brain farts, and ultimately he isn't a keeper of Keylor/De Gea/Buffon ability who can win a tight match or get a draw in a match we could have lost by making incredible saves.
Good part in comparation with Sabatini is that monchi seems to move beforehand and not in the last days of market
Being crying for Kolarov/Zabaleta for years now, solid signing. Think this team needs a few experienced veteran winners to lead the team.
EPL fans suddenly paying attention to him. This is the Mahrez we know and love. #LCFC pic.twitter.com/CteTKxwajB— Leicester City FC (@FIRST4LCFC) July 22, 2017
Agreed. Dude isn't Italian. He isn't a Lazio fan. Being upset he once played for Lazio is a provincial mentality. Milan-Juve-Inter have no problem transferring between them if it makes them better.
‘Nothing concrete for Mahrez’ City’s vice-President denies there has been an official bid from Roma for Riyad Mahrez. The Giallorossi are known to be interested in the winger, and are believed to be confident they can secure a deal to sign him Having initially denied there had been a bid, Foxes manager Craig Shakespeare said yesterday that an offer had been rejected because it was too low. “Actually, there's no real offer at the moment,” vice-President Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha insisted, as reported by FourFourTwo. “We know his potential, but he also has to adapt to the team. If he performs well, he'll have his chance in the team. “Change is ordinary in football. I believe every player wants to play, obviously with big clubs. Mahrez also has his dream. [There is] nothing concrete at the moment, and he is still a Leicester City player. “The transfer market now is really difficult to work with. I saw reports say that 'the offer's not good enough'; actually, there's no offer at all. “Or, if there is one, it will be lower than those expensive done deals for players that never won the PFA [award], no Champions League stint, [have] never been on [the] Ballon d'Or shortlist. “I don't set the exact price tag, as we don't want to sell him. Reporters can have their say. I didn't say £40m, £50m or £100m because I really don't know. “You have to consider his value at the moment he left, and [the] value of his replacement accordingly. I can't see a player like Mahrez or a decent replacement in the market right now.”
There should be news on Monday. From a trusted source Roma are quite confident that this deal will go through.
Shouldn't the Lazio fans be the ones to be pissed? I think it's funny we're getting one of the better players they've had in recent years. Clearly Kolarov views us as a better club than Lazio.
Imo, one of the lamest reasons. We aren't making the jump because of the cheap owner we have. Kolarov is a very good signing, he's decent and all, but it will be weird to see him in a Roma shirt.
I'm telling you there is a portion of the fanbase that would rather Roma suck and have reason to B!@#$, than Roma win a scudetto, then they'll have to make up reasons to complain.
We have made a jump already? If you don't remember our last owners had us on the brink of bankruptcy. If it wasn't for this owner we would have gone the way of Parma Remember before they took over our big signing was Motta for like 3 mil after off Aquilani for 20 mil.
