We've raised our bid for Mahrez to €35m

I don't think he's a bigger risk than Berardi or Bernardeschi. You get an elite player ready to make an impact, and his resale will still be high in a few years.

Absolutely. Buy him for 40m, watch him light up Serie A for two years, sell him back to an EPL team for 65-80m.

Sky claiming Monchi met with Eduardo Massia (current LC director, former Viola director) and bid 22M for Mahrez. LC asked for 35M.

The numbers seem skitchy but I'm sure Monchi is trying to bring the price down.

Mahrez is the exact type of player I was thinking of when I posted about Salah's weaknesses. He can operate more naturally and effectively in the opponent's third when we're trying to break down 10 behind the ball.

Trying to not count the chickens before they're hatched, but I'm just thinking about Perotti and Mahrez on each wing and smiling.

I'm a huge fan of Mahrez but Roma have to be careful here about what they pay. Mahrez is an absolute beast at taking on players and playing in tight spaces inside the 18. He is not a natural goal scorer and he's 26 so no matter how well he does the next couple of years other teams are not going to pay 40 mil for a 28 year old wing player unless you are Di Maria or somebody along those lines.

Again, Monchi knows far more than any of us but I'm a bit worried we are caught up with Defrel and Mahrez and end up paying too much.

Also Defrel makes a lot more sense now, we need a striker capable of making runs behind the defenders to receive the balls Perotti and RW will send. He can be our Vardy in the right setup.

Just caught a video of all of Seri's touches in a friendly Nice played this week. He can f***ing sling it.

Not that I care if this Mahrez thing is real.

If they can get Mahrez for anything near 30 mil that will be a great deal. Honestly, I think 35 is more than fair but if Monchi can get them down another couple mil I'm not going to complain

30 mil plus bonuses came to mind as a nice middle ground when those rumors of Leicester's asking price emerged. I just hope this doesn't drag out to the point other clubs are tempted by the value.

Part of the reason we nabbed Strootman while punching way above our weight was how quickly we struck.

I still find it hard to believe the stories claiming LC want 35m. 50m seems a lot more realistic given today's market and all that. The reports so far are contradicting, but our interest seems real, at least. Let's see how it pans out.

I could see LC charging Roma 35-40 million and an English side 50. Leicester are doing what Torino always does to us.

Mahrez would be a great capture. Perfect replacement for Salah. My only reservation is that Mahrez would jump ship and cause problems if he thinks he can move to an even bigger club. If he has a good season with us, i can see him hoping for Barca yet again.

It happens to all players, even Totti thought to join RM and DDR to EPL.
So no point to worry on this.

Anyone else see Spurs announcing Fazio's transfer and have a little panic attack?

    Any interesting rumours lately?

Or are we still low-balling Leicester?

    I want more wonder kids.

In a major shock, wonder kid Juan Iturbe joined the squad today. It was a big surprise since he was expected to take Gareth Bale's spot in Real Madrid.

Some are calling it the best move Monchi has wver pulled.

So why is Ünder not in the 28 man squad named for the US tour?
