I wonder if Chelsea will send reinforcements to Vitesse when they mount their Europa League campaign next season.

  2. Yup, congrats! And we proved our trade, development, again. Chelsea sent in a Yank, Miazga and when he came and played it was terrible. The only thing he was good at was pure defensive. According to the Vitesse fans he was terrible at passing and Vitesse with him was worse than without him. So he went into the Youth/Reserve team to learn. By the time the regular CB was injured he came in and was markedly far better, due to the special efforts of the staff to adress the in Dutch eyes flaws. And they did their job and of course Miazga had to put in his efforts too. He didnot think, hey, I'm from Chelsea, I deserve a starting spot, no he addressed his flaws and thus managed to make it into several teams of the weak!

    Brilliant Dutch repped this.
  3. If they would sent in ones capable of winning it, that for the first time would be a contribution to Dutch soccer by them by crancking up our coefficient...until we meet them after they get kicked out of the CL group stage and we beat them too to go and win it:ROFLMAO:

  4. It will be more interesting for Chesea to send the best in, as these are going into a EL campaign that will test them at a very high level. That is if you want your best to get tested at the highest level possible, without Chelsea themselves gotten bitten in the CL.

  5. Oh dear, having an Eredivisie past not always stirr fraternity feelings. 3 former Eredivisie player see red after fighting with each other in the Russian Cup Final.

  8. Some time ago we had a link to an article, in which it was revealed that from all clubs Peter Bosz Vitesse played most true to the Dutch school of all the Eredivisie clubs. The Lyon match showed glimmers of PB's vision on how to play the game. It took Ajax almost a complete season to grasp it. Might be interesting to see how next season that analysis will turn out!

  9. There seems to be a twitter account that mentions where scouts of top clubs are watching:

    Manchester United
Eerder werd de 19-jarige Deen al gelinkt aan onder meer Manchester United.

#acmilan scout watched #ajax 4-1 #lyon on Weds to assess 19yo Kasper Dolberg

What an epic goal by a legend! Arjen Robben, 95th minute goal to give Bayern a 5-4 win over LB (Bayern were losing 2-4 in the 80-85th minute odd).

What a legend - Seems to get better with age !

So Tuchel could not get along with the Dortmund board and was having difficulties with some of the players and gets sacked. It will be interesting to see who ends up at the helm for next season as they just won the cup and also are in the CL group stage. Bosz was mentioned in one article but I don't think he will move right now.

  15. Hey Scotty, nice to meet you over here in the Dutch forum. Check out my posts in the referee forum about the Vid referee red carding an MVV player.
Quite some turmoil going on in Kerkrade. The billionair financer is locked up in a Gulf State because of bouncing checques, so what will happen in the coming months. We live in interesting times:p

  16. Gudde has anounced he will leave Feyenoord this year. He now is mentioned as the one to take over control at the KNVB.

You might recall a few years back there was a plan to merge MVV, Roda and Sittard. Then MVV said no way and Roda and Sittard were still planning to go ahead as "FC Limburg." But then the Limburg government refused to support it, so it went away.
It's amazing to me to see such bitter rivalries from places so close together.

  18. Yup, there is such a disgust among supporters concerning a merger of any kind, that it has been given up. Roda and Sittard are relatively similar in history, so probably that would have worked.

  19. I read in the English forums the rumour that highly sought after Mexican Lozano has been signed by ManCity and is going to be loaned to PSV:eek:

  20. Rangers is humiliated by a nr 4 Luxembourg football club in the qualies of the EL.:ROFLMAO:

  21. Europa fc from Gibraltar just narrowly missed the second stage of the CL qualies against the Saints from Wales. They were beaten in the 30 minutes xtra time.

  22. Former Dutch woman international Sylvia Nooij died at the age of 32 as a result of an epileptic seizure.

Saw Utrecht yesterday, very disappointing against Valetta. The pitch was terrible and it was very hot. But it seems to me Utrecht wasn't ready. Even with 3/4 players missing they should do a better job. Still confident they will finish those Maltese in the second leg. Next round the winner of this tie will face Haugesund or Lech Poznan. Both sides are more or less equal to Utrecht I think. Hopefully Utrecht will pass this round, Dutch football already had many small teams mess up in Europe including Utrecht.

  24. Yup, they continue to deliver substandard performance when in Europe.
They go in with a mindset, completely different from AZ. The success AZ has in Europe boils down to what in an article I posted was mentioned. Being seasoned in European battle with an attitude. Remember what Ron Vlaar said in that article.
