You can also look in the "ads" section of the conferences to try and schedule a last minute friendly. That's worked for me a few times.
You are if you have supporter (it shows up in the little message box in the bottom of the window). If you don't have supporter, you have to check your "my hattrick" page. Keep challenging people who are online. I challenged about 50 people who were online in Bavaria this morning to schedule my friendly for next week (I'm doing an international alcohol tour).
