I'm confident enough that I picked up Melia and all of SKCs backline on fantasy. Prove me wrong Union.
I can't clearly read this game with the Gold Cup call-ups, but away at KC with Local Helmet in net tells my gut it's gonna be an L.
63% of y'all apparently don't the Union are the (fourth) BEST team in MLS BABY (since May 1 not counting Cup matches)!!!!!!!
We have certainly looked dangerous and have really solidified the backline. Unfortunately we still have to face the fact that we are a 1-4-2 road team going to play a KC team that is 6-0-3 at home. Draw is about as hopeful as I'm going to be, and I will be happy with 1 point.
The following SKC starters will not be available: Dwyer Zusi Gerso Espinoza Besler Feilhaber is questionable but likely will play. No SKC starter has more than 2 regular season goals. SKC hasn't lost in 16 consecutive home games (more than a year).
So last night's games sucked for the Union. ATL and CLB both with wins. Union now 6 points below the line. (Granted Union have 2, 2, and 3 games in hand over #s 4, 5, and 6.)
Welp: Just announced: @ChrisPontius13 is going to the Gold Cup with the U.S. Will leave after Thursday’s game at KC. No word on who he’s replacing— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) July 5, 2017 -------- Can we get Bruce to take him now so there is more Epps, less Pontius in our lives? Dude has been in miserable form for months now.
What's even worse, we have 0 (zero) road points against teams above the red line. In the first half of the season, 4 of 22 points came from playoff teams. 12 of the last 17 matches are against playoff teams. Y'all enjoy your night.
While a draw would be acceptable, we really need to get 3 points tonight. The Revs choked when we needed them to hold their draw last night. Montreal results went our way, but with RBNY winning it doesn't help as much.
Agreed. The Columbus win over Minnesota hurt us just as much or a bit more. A win in KC would be huge to restore hope of making the playoffs.
Lineup is out: McCarthy Gaddis - Elliot - Onyewu - Wijnaldum Jones - Medunjanin Picault - Ilsinho - Pontius Sapong Bench: McGuire, Rosenberry, Yaro, Carroll (!!!), Alberg, Epps, Simpson
Also from the Union website: CJ Sapong has made two MLS regular-season appearances against Sporting KC, his former team. This is his first MLS regular-season start at Kansas City since he was traded to Philadelphia. Sapong's next goal will give him 10 on the season, which would set a new career high. So that's not gonna happen tonight now.

So the game plan appears to be bunker and hit them on the counter with the blazing speed of Ilsinho. lol.
