Sorry...no way in the world the announced equals butts in seats in the pouring rain...not in this town at least...not sure the blues have put 20k actual people into the Stadium yet this season...
OK…said I wasn't sure…you seem plenty sure…8 games…how many above 20k actual… They're averaging 22.5... They've announce a crowd at 18.5 that speaks for itself…so too do 2 crowds announced at 20 even and 20.1…then another at 22.4 where even an acceptable number of no-shows puts 20 in play… So 4 other crowds…how many...
Toronto with 28,627 Colorado with 15,461 San Jose with 18,000 Real Salt Lake with 19,256 Vancouver with 22,120
Looks like they are not planning to use the expanded capacity. Legit sellout tonight, and new bleachers not used.
not according to the weekly mls statistic sheet*: https://www.mlssoccer.com/media-resources/stat-sheets *should be noted that they've added the game played but not the attendance from the last ATL game so that is why their number is screwed up i imagine it will be fixed next week....let's hope.
That's weird. It's not like that was the last game of the weekend, and it's a pretty glaring error. Somebody's getting their daily bagel slapped away tomorrow morning.
Sounders invented shorting another teams attendance to make them still look like the attendance kings.
Atlanta's total should be 236,024 through 5 games, not 237,024 as they have. So there total for the 6 home games should be 280,946 for an average of 46,824. 1.55,297 2.44,922 3.46,011 4.44,893 5.44,901 Going to check the numbers again to see if I screwed up, forget game #2 attendance was 45,922
All the Union needs is a dedicated ownership. With or without Sakiewicz, they've been hamstrung since Day One due to Sugarman's apprenticeship as owner.
i have them at 284,496 thru 6 games the week 3 game on 3/18 was 45,922 not 44,922 according to the official mls box score for the game: https://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2017-03-18-atlanta-united-fc-vs-chicago-fire/boxscore
yes. i know. that's what i posted shows ... 281,946 for 6 games for a 46,991 average ... the first all team's cut and past from my spreadsheet my other post was a mistype sorry, not sure what happened there but the point is the 2nd ATL game is 45,922 not 44,992 at least according to MLS ... tho oddly the last ATL game was 44,922 so go figure.
Not sure where to put this but I wanted to bring it up. Mods can move if necessary. Last night's AUFC @ DCU match was the 2nd opportunity for Atlanta's new local TV play-by-play man, BBC's radio man Alan Green. Without wasting a post on how much he sucks, he did commit a near fatal sin in my eyes: He practically spent the first 10 minutes of the broadcast commenting on the sparse attendance, leaving me embarrassed and livid. First rule for doctors is "Do no more harm." Surely broadcasting has a similar rule which would include "Don't speak ill of your product or paint a picture that makes people want to tune out!" We're new to the league, obviously, and have been blessed here in Atlanta so maybe this isn't a new phenomenon elsewhere. Are other local personalities talking about attendance issues when they happen? You would think the collective instruction would be sing praise when it's due and then shut up otherwise.
Mid Week DC United Attendance 14594 Minnesota United Attendance 18442 Colorado Rapids Attendance 13496 Seattle Sounders Attendance 42333
