My reason for rolling eyes was not to diss his quality, but because agent's like to use the "next Maradona", "next Pele" etc, and usually those that are dubbed the next one don't turn out. I wish they wouldn't put that sort of pressure on young kids.

If he does pan out to be the next elite player, I'm guessing Manchester will come knocking with $120m purchase offer in a few years. The market has gone crazy!!

No to Costa please. There's something about him that I don't like, how he can go missing for stretches.

Haven't seen much of him but he seems like a great striker to pair with a quick winger or CF. he's very unselfish.

He definitely can succeed in Italy.

    From Football Italia....

The business plan submitted to UEFA by Milan has allegedly been leaked, with aims to more than double revenues in five years.

The Rossoneri have been taken over by Rossoneri Sport Luxembourg, funded by Yonghong Li and other Chinese investors.

The new owners have wasted no time in recruiting players, with Franck Kessié, Ricardo Rodriguez, Mateo Musacchio and André Silva coming in, and Andrea Conti, Lucas Biglia and Nikola Kalinic potentially set to follow.

That could see the Diavolo fall foul of Financial Fair Play rules, unless they can prove to UEFA that the outlay is a realistic way of growing revenues.

According to Il Sole 24 Ore, the plan is for revenues to rise from €196.2m at the end of 2016-17 to €273m at the end of 2018.

From there a big jump to €426.5m is budgeted for, before a further rise to €447.5 and €486m in the following years, culminating in a revenue of €524m by 2022.

That would represent more than a 100 per cent increase over five years, something which UEFA may not deem to be realistic.

It’s believed that most of these increases are expected to arrive from the Chinese market, and the governing body of European football has asked for details of how that will be achieved.

Broadcasting revenues are projected to rise from €98m to €107m by the end of 2022, with sponsorship income to increase to €84m from €76m.

Despite San Siro being shared with Inter and owned by the city council, Milan’s new owners expect to almost double match day revenue to €40m.

Finally, it appears the Rossoneri’s new owners are budgeting for a return to the Champions League next season, while expecting UEFA revenues to reach €68m by 2021-22, when they expect to win the Scudetto.

    -----------------------

It's easy, the Chinese government is going to purchase €50m worth of jerseys to be sold in sport outlet stores around China, mandatory. Communism is good for Milan.

Ibrahimovic rumored to be coming back in Jan, so then another €50m worth of Jersey's will be sold. :)

    Spend da monies Chinese guys!

Where's GC when you need him?

i can't see it making sense to bring ibra back. at this point in his career, he's a band aid you bring in to get immediate results without regard to a plan for the future. well, at least that's what he was before his injury... if our new owners have a serious plan, i don't think you can bring ibra in. he's such a big personality and talent that he becomes the focus of the team even if that's not the intention. that's not the way to build a cohesive team for the future, imo.

Haven't been here in awhile, but my goodness has Milan come a long way. We all joked about the Chinese money over the years of hoping for new owners and the direct deposit hit.

Mussacchio, Kessie, Rodriguez, Silva. 4 new starters and in talks for 2 more (Conti/Biglia).

I'd love Veratti to join. I wanted Belotti but now since we got Silva, I'm not sure if that's still an option.

I love Ibra, but that ship has sailed. He needs to recover and join a team in January where he has a chance to play CL and finish career properly...

Allegri on MDS: "De Sciglio? No, we are sorted in defence.”

Did anyone ever read any quotes from MDS about wanting to leave? I remember there being "reports" and him "asking to leave", but I don't remember any direct quotes from the player or his agent. Either way, he's put himself in an awkward position with the supporters.

The only way it makes sense to bring Ibra back is for one season for Milan to be competitive, while the new crew adjust to each other and for jersey sales before he goes to MLS :) It's just a rumor, probably from bored journalists, and with Mini as his agent the salary demand will likely be over €7-8m a season.

Nuh uh. Screw Raioily out of a transfer % by sitting him next year, which means he doesn't go to the world cup either.

Chinese owner guy to Mini "Hai, you, Ray Oily, you wanna make sum mun-e? Den sign your client and we talk about selling next year, oh else fuh yu and he sit in stadium seat next to me for 1 year!"
    - sounds better in my head, but you get the point.

Sure he walks for free next year, but how much of a transfer % does Ray get? Surely he'll negotiate something for encouraging his client to sign with said club. He's not stupid. A fat piece of shit, but not stupid. In the meantime poison the Ray Oily well with timely visits by "random" fans who also whisper in Gigio's ear that Ray Oily is scum and is only concerned with moving his client as much as possible.

The news that is being disseminated about this seems scattered and unreliable. For example; I don't see much mention of Donna's brother whom, from some reports, appears to be a central antagonist to the story.

Mino is a scumbag and has become infamous as the "Don King" of European football but according to sources he gave new ownership a lot of rope to get discussions going after which he described the new owners as "embarrassing". This obviously conflicts with the recent Porto transfer which was "professional and smooth" by contrast.

Ultimately I have a feeling this saga isn't over yet. I don't think Donna is the kind of kid who "doesn't mind" being vilified because if this situation remains the same he won't be able to walk the streets of Milan again.

He came out and said that he wanted Milan a few days ago. Mini made a shit storm with the alleged management contact directly with his client, but the big deal breaker had to be Mini's ridiculous demand of a €10m release clause if AC doesn't make CL next year. In that way he gets his triple layered cake with whip on top and eats it without sharing, getting a fat commission this year and potentially next year too. He wanted reassurances that management was serious about rebuilding and, excuse me, but they've made purchases that indicate this is the aim and aren't done yet. So, once again, greed is the issue here and Gigio has to shoulder some of the blame merely for hiring this scum bag. If he wants to gain control he can tell Mini to get a deal done and move on, but if he lets the fat porker run his career he'll move from club to club every 2-3 years when that fat phuck wants another big pay day.

Its not as simple as that.

Players like Donnarruma, who might seem like a generational talent, usually never have this much leverage. Automatically we point the finger at Raiola and yes he's never been particularly helpful to anyone (except his client but that's his job) but the real blame is shared by Milan pre and post takeover - they should have had a spoken agreement regarding a contract the day that Donna became a regular with the team.

This takeover saga ********ing delayed everything which leaves us in a situation where an 18 year old is now asking for 5 million net in salary - AN 18 YEAR OLD!

It should have never of come to this but we let it happen.

this is disappointing but not surprising. much like MDS, he's already vilified himself with the fans by letting it get to this point. sell his ass, move on, and hope we beat his ass every time we play him in the future.

No one said it was simple, but players have choice and therefore control if they want it.

And who were they supposed to have a verbal agreement with when they took over?

How about the player's agent for one?

Regarding what happened this week - nobody likes Mino but you NEVER circumvent the agent during negotiations no matter WHO he is.

A "verbal" agreement with Burger King? Really? Haven't you been paying attention to the games he's been playing?

No one has any idea that this happened, for one. Mini has been looking for a way to get a big pay day from Gigio since he signed him.

Look; I'm like you - I only believe 10 percent of what the newspapers and reports say.

What we know for sure is that Mino has a reputation and in light of that, arrangements should have been made early on - unfortunately, the cloud of confusion regarding the take over dominated the proceedings and prevented a deal from happening.

I don't like Mino anymore than anyone else here but he's right to be suspicious about Milan's new ownership and their ambitions. Afterall Milan is coming out from a very dark period and the jury is out right now about the future of this team.

At the end of the day no point in losing sleep over an 18 year old goalkeeper - the kid is super talented no doubt but keepers don't win you Championships. They can occasionally save your ass in a final here and there but they're not winning games by themselves, that's for sure.

How do you know any of that is true? The agent and player decide when they're going to talk to management and news papers are used to fuel both sides agenda in various ways. It's a year out. There's plenty of time to have a deal done if player and agent wanted. It comes down to the clauses IMO. The ones they want inserted are ridiculous. Gigio is an 18 year old kid who is wanted by elite clubs around the world. That's a major ego boost. He's King at the moment. His family should be better managing this, but presumably with their grace he hired the most despicable agent in the world who would love nothing more than to move him around every few years. That's based on his history. That's what we know. It's too bad, for us. IMO, we've done all we could, so far with giving reassurances that our aim aligned with theirs. There's no guarantee, of course, but the intention is clear.

Management is definitely behind this "leak" lol....

I know everything about Donnarumma – his family, relatives, every corner of his home. There are things that really surprise me, namely that big newspapers and television stations pretended not to know what was behind him and always has been. Donnarumma’s history is complex and this is the final result of behaviour that hasn’t been fair from the start.

“I wouldn’t say I discovered him, as I was just fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. He was 10 years old and even a blind man would’ve been able to tell Donnarumma was a talent.

“I saw this kid in Naples and immediately called Piero Ausilio at Inter. For three-and-a-half years, up until 2013, he was being groomed by Inter and had several trial runs there.

“It all went fine until the moment he was set to sign the written contract with the club. That afternoon, we all reached an agreement – him, his father and mother – after four intense years.

“The next morning, they agreed terms with Milan, without warning or fair play. There were some precedents that made me think Donnarumma could get into this situation with Milan.

“I am perplexed at his decision not to stay with a club like Milan, but then I have my ideas on the matter…

“I’ll just repeat: his family in 2013 signed for Inter. They returned to Naples, the next morning took a plane and signed for Milan. The contract they had signed less than 24 hours earlier was worthless.

“What more do I have to say? I am stunned that some reporters continue to not know the situation or pretend not to listen.”

Like I said - a pre-arrangement should have been made the day Donna became a regular team starter.

A player's value is mostly fluid and in this instance we saw Donna's value skyrocket on the back of a lot of excellent - and sometimes - amazing performances. Galliani could have theoretically secured all of this; there was seemingly plenty of time to draw-up a pre-arranged offer and if Mino were to come late with last minute demands then you can simply expose him in the media.

We're Milanista's so of course we're eager to cry "traitor" but there's also the likelihood that this is all due to incompetence
