Back at home on hump day. Dwyer returns from suspension. Seattle are coming off of a massive 1-4 beat down at the hands of Chicago, so they are going to be looking to get back on track. They'll be without Joevin Jones who picked up a red card late in that game.

Will this be the day the sellout streak ends? Cauldron is selling tickets to non-members again for this game with a limit of 10. 194 are still available as of 8:30 AM.

Just came across my twitter feed: First eleven games of our season have had some really difficult matchups, but the next ten look prime for the taking. We'll have to contend with WCQs and summer fatigue, but this is where our season is made or broken.

It felt like the sell out streak was on the line a few weeks ago against New York, too. Attendence has been on the decline and these week day school night games are getting tough to fill. I think they'll find a way to make it a sell out, but I doubt it'll look like a sell out.

I would assume that if the Cauldron has 194 seats available, there are more elsewhere? I may be wrong about this, but I always assume the Cauldron is choice number one for most attendees, and then you move on to the rest of the place. But that may just be because that's how I see it.
If it's a total of 194 seats, I'd think they could sell those in two days

It's not choice no. 1 for most people, no. For the people that go to a lot of games but don't own season tickets, it may be. But randos picking up a game? They'll usually try to get as midfield as possible for as cheap as possible, I think.

yeah, i recall hearing that they've already said the whole regular season is sold out from their point of view. they really only need to actually sell a couple thousand tickets for each game. there's 14,500 sth, so that leaves 4k available per game. they actually only need to get something like 95% sold to call it a sellout, right? so that then means they only need 3k. add on the number they probably already consider "sold" to the cauldron (how many does the cauldron get each game, 500?), and we're starting to get to a number low enough that you can basically assume will always be zero(ish) by kickoff.

i reckon, until season tickets stop selling out, they'll always find a way to fudge the numbers to keep their streak alive. they have to, as so much of this club is rooted in marketing

I'm saying it's like most American sports where it's tickets distributed, not butts in seats.

as much as i hate to say it, seattle got totally screwed by the refs in that game against chicago. it was a joke, and i'm not sure it's fair to describe it as a beat down (even though the score makes it look that way).

Yeah, we'll see if it's dispirited Seattle or angry Seattle. On the plus side, them missing Jones is a good thing for Sporting.

Maybe, or maybe , to paraphrase Sammy Baugh, it would have been 4-2. Seattle played well enough in the first half, something switched off in the second, and it can't all be down to a weird but not unique PK situation. I've watched them every week since they picked up Matin and continued when he left because Morris intrigued me, and Lodiero is a hell of a nice player. They look off recently. Everything is just not working. If SKC can bring anything close to an A game, Seattle can be cracked right now.

This will be the most well attended soccer match in the history of the game. There will literally be millions in attendance.

the dynamic of the game is changed going down 1-0 early. while it's still fair to say that you gotta do the job afterward anyway (which they did not), it's also fair to say that we don't know what would've happened had it remained 0-0 then ... or had the ref not ordered the penalty retaken and seattle given the momentum boost of a pk save ... or if seattle had been given the make-up pk on morris later on (which was more of a foul than the one on seattle's defender... even though neither were actually fouls in my book).

    this i certainly agree with.

    it's gonna be tremendous.

I used to love weeknight matches until the baby came, now they seem like impossible missions. Frankly, I wish MLS played more of them and increased the # of games to force teams to use the entirety of the rosters. Some people would say that they play too many games as it is, I think they should use more of their players.

So I am going to give Sporting some credit here. Making this Wednesday retro night is the only thing convincing my significant other to attend the match. She digs those jerseys which sucks because I will have to buy one.

Also, it's my last chance to attend a game for a while since I recently took a job with Amazon and I will be back and forth from Seattle through July.

Only 46 Cauldron tickets remain. Considering the weather forecast, that's pretty impressive.

unknown unknowns, I don't think it's unfair to say it's down to that. But if they are so fragile right now, that's a bad sign. for them. for us, it's a great sign

I plan on making an unusual early entry into the stadium to make sure I get one. I have been SOL'ed too many times coming in 3 mins prior to kickoff.

I'm gonna have to pick up one of those sick scarves. Hopefully they won't sell out as quickly as the jerseys.

Speaking of attendance, I think our attendance is down to be honest with the change from Ticketmaster to SeatGeek, I mean Ticketmaster probably has much more traffic then SeatGeek does, anyone else think that? We used to be able to sell 19500 easily, especially Saturdays, now we struggle to sell almost 19K
