More KAOS st the White House.

WASHINGTON — The disclosure thatPresident Trump divulged classified intelligence to two high-ranking Russian officials was a new blow to an already dispirited and besieged White House staff still recovering from the uproar and recriminations from the president’sfiring of James B. Comey, the F.B.I.director.

Mr. Trump’s appetite for chaos, coupled with his disregard for the self-protective conventions of the presidency, have left his staff confused and squabbling. And his own mood, according to two advisers who spoke on the condition of anonymity, has become sour and dark, turning against most of his aides — even his son-in-law, Jared Kushner — and describing them in a fury as “incompetent,” according to one of those advisers.

Even before the latest bombshell dropped, reports swirled in the White House that the president was about to embark on a major shake-up, probably starting with the dismissal or reassignment of Sean Spicer, the press secretary.

Mr. Trump’s rattled staff kept close tabs on a meeting early Monday in which the president summoned Mr. Spicer; the deputy press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders; and the communications director, Michael Dubke, to lecture them on the need “to get on the same page,” according to a person briefed on the meeting. Even as Mr. Trump reassured advisers like Mr. Spicer that their jobs were safe at the morning meeting, he told other advisers he knew he needed to make big changes but did not know which direction to go in, or whom to select.

    So, here's a quote ...

A senior Trump administration official who also worked on the Trump campaign.

This is actually rather small universe of people.

This is not the first time I've seen reports that Trump is exhibiting signs of the early stages of Alzheimer's. The signs of this are becoming louder and louder.

One sign is the decline in vocabulary. We've all noticed the he really doesn't have words any more. Regardless of what he says.

    Watch for more on this.

@Cascarino's Pizzeria is right. Paul Ryan is the kind of guy that I scold for curling in the squat rack.

There's also the frequency with which he says "A" in the morning and "not-A" in the afternoon, as though he already doesn't remember what position he has committed to.

My dad did some of that, but we didn't recognize it as a symptom for a couple more years.

Perhaps, or Trump is simply a pathological, narcissistic liar who has no concept of truth or consistency.

    "Positions?"
    "Committed?"
Oh, @taosjohn, you give Trump too much credit.

Sorry, to hear about your dad.

To give one ancillary example... Sen Barbara Mikulski could have run again for her seat of 30 years here in Maryland but chose not to. Now, her being 78 may have figured into it, but one of the reasons she gave to her staff during her initial conference call to her staffers was that it would be difficult to raise money as, in the Senator's words, "Clinton just Hoovered up all the money". And this coming from a senator with 30 years, a 75% favorability rating, and the likelihood of getting 65%+ of the vote.

I imagine anyone thinking about the presidential nomination would have had to look at that same inevitability.

Once again though, "Clinton just Hoovered up all the money" is not the same as "the Democrats cleared the field for Clinton." The repeated allegation is that the Democratic Party actively attempted to ensure that Clinton had no strong opponents for the nomination. Can anyone back up any of these allegations? I've never seen anyone do it. If Clinton's fundraising system was so formidable that no one else was getting any money, that's not positive for the Democrats, but that doesn't mean it was mandated from the top.
