Mad props to your team

I agree it was a game that was exciting from start to finish. The Revs came back three times from a goal down and took it as far as you can down the stretch. Losing the Cup birth by a penalty kick sucks, but someone had to lose. I honestly expected the Revs to win because IMHO we had the better keeper (and he even scored on yours!). Alas it was not meant to be. There were some beautiful goals from both DCU and the Revs, a dream hightlight reel for sure.

The Revs have nothing to hang their heads about other than having to watch the MLS Cup on TV next week. They gave one of their best gut-wrenching performances of the year and rolled over for no one. Now if they could just make the first 3/4 of the season worth watching, they might have something there!

I'll be pulling for DCU in the finals since I think KC is crap. At least they took LA out of it, which is always a good thing! In the meantime, keep the pity coming. We've unfortunately grown accustomed to it....

The Revs came to play and gave it everything they had. I can not speak highly enough of their play last night. I hope the fans that made it down to DC didn't have any problems and were glad they came to watch the Revs in a classic battle.

 

I was hoping that game would never end... I'd rather see endless OTs than penalties, but even they were exciting... Glad I set the DVR to record straight through MLS Wrap... I would have been apoplectic if I'd missed recording the whole thing...

 

They sure as hell did. They dominated possession most of the time. We had three spectacular goals, but in between it was mostly the Revs, particularly in the first half. We were very lucky, and you were very unlucky.

 

Also props to Monty and the Revs supporters who came down to DC, I know we ALL went home emotionally drained.

What's up with your man Dempsey? He's a freak! I posted this in the LA forum, but all the LA fans are getting over hangovers, so I thought I'd post it here so at least someone will read it:

"My favorite NE player was Dempsey. He looked like the nightstalker, unshaven and lacking sleep.

Then he gets that ball at the half-line and starts taking it down the field and you can tell he's made up his mind to take it all the way and score so he can get over here to the HD Center and do some stalking in East LA.

So he just KEEPS GOING, 20-30-40 yards until finally he's basically body slammed by the DC deffender and has the ball taken away.

But does that psycho bastard stay down? NO!

He gets up and body slams the little DC punk to the ground in return. They both go down to the turf like 69 lesbians, synchronized and beautiful in abandon.

Agghh, now that's good stuff."

 

Dempsey's a tornado, 'nuff said.

 

We in La Norte have never applauded a visiting team. Ever. We appluaded your team Saturday night.

All class.

Good to see Monty and the rest of you guys on Saturday night.

One word though, whoever that Rev fan was that decided to come into La Norte, PLEASE don't ever do that again. You're lucky that it was only confetti that was thrown at you. Walking into a supporters section at that point during the match was NOT a good idea.

Thanks, Mike. I've never enjoyed watching a game at home as much as I enjoyed this one. Your fans were great. I was watching this with a bunch of Colombians (Pawtucket) and they were jumping out of their seats yelling "Que partidazo" and all that.

I've seen a few humans with that baby faced, sleep-eyed, blank stare look and I've learned to not get in their way. Every time I see a closeup of Clint on TV I think he could be well-cast in a remake of "Natural Born Killer" or "The Shining"

 

New England just became my second-favorite team Saturday night.
Reis is a great keeper and all class.
Maybe we should start playing you guys for the Atlantic Cup instead of those Metros.
