feel sorry for bender. made no sense to start him tonight. just roll with ginter and sokratis in back.
Perhaps move the thread, or change the title. We are having an ongoing discussion here, which has remained mostly civil.
Please, Puli at half time. The offense is in second gear at best. They need some of CP's direct attacking approach to have a chance.
Right. You consider it "fear mongering" to predict it was likely the result of a jihadist terror attack. Which is nothing more than a rational prediction based on recent trends, and was essentially confirmed today as correct.
You'd half to think he'd be put on unless he is one of the players having a hard time mentally with the attack that Tuchel talked about.
I am not sure very many people define it that precisely in all situations. For instance, Erdogan in Turkey is called an Islamist (or Islamist-supporting) politician in some mainstream media. Does he desire to impose Sharia law? (Some Turks would tell you he does, but so far, at least, that does not seem to be the case.) I think you are trying to shade a much more generic term to win an argument. And I think if anyone took the time to compile popular media and scholarly references they would show you are, in many cases, incorrect.
As I said in the other thread, Tuchel tried to fight fire by throwing a wet blanket on it. You fight fire with fire. Pulisic and Reus perhaps should have started.
Who goes out? Bender is scary shaky. Ginter could come back to replace him and hasn't been aggressive enough for what they need. Both Kagawa and Guerreiro are too tentative. Maybe CP needs to be cloned?
Very rough half for Dortmund, considering Monaco now has two away goals. I'm still a little incredulous that Dortmund has to play this game less than 24 hours after a potential terrorist attack on their team bus. I think it was very poor management from UEFA and this game should have been pushed back at least a week.
No point in being cautious now. With 2 away goals, Dortmund's CL campaign is over unless they can turn it around quickly this second half.
Starting Ginter at Right wingback was a ridiculous move by Tuchel, and it is backfiring. Idk what he was thinking, but he needs to stick with a consistent formation, and try to get players in a position where they are comfortable.
lol at sokratis still talking with the refs about the pk. that had to have been what he was talking about.
Rest assured, I am arguing in good-faith about my true beliefs. And I spend considerable time educating myself on the subject-matter of Islam. As with all religious ideologies, there are splits and variances even among fundamental interpretations. For example, Iran and Saudi Arabia are both ruled by fundamentalist Islamic governments, yet they have splits on certain basic issues. But as a general matter, fundamentalist, conservative Islam seeks to impose Islamic law (whatever the interpretation) throughout society. The Wahhabi movement being the most prevalent and obvious example of this practice. There are different ways of achieving this. For example, the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt has typically sought to subvert Democratic principles against themselves by electing fundamentalist leaders, who have the ultimate goal to do away with democratic elections. On the more extreme end, ISIS attempts to impose its views of fundamental Islam on society by uncompromising violence. If you can point me to an example of a major Islamic fundamentalist movement that does not seek to impose Islamic law on society, I would be very impressed. As far as Erdogan is concerned, I'm sure you'd agree that what the Western Media calls Erdogan is not necessarily controlling. But he is typically referred to as a "closet fundamentalist," similar to the practices of the Muslim Brotherhood. And he's certainly doing his part to degrade the secular, democratic aspects of government in Turkey, while empowering conservative, Muslim elements.
