Hell, in some states, criminals still do sell it despite Prohibition having been repealed forever ago. The mafia families that used to run the hooch ended up running the hugely anti-competitive distributorships in a lot of places. Others moved on to other things that had become verboten.
I'm about to post the most controversial, divisive and inflammatory thing I have ever said here on BigSoccer's P&CE board. Are you ready? Here goes: All pizza is delicious. There. I said it. Come at me.
Have you had pizza in St. Louis? Because I really want to agree with you, due to my hatred of Pizza Fundamentalists, but they do it badly in St. Louis. And by the sound of it, in BRF's Nebraska
No, but I have had pizza on very thin, cracker-type crusts and while it's not my favorite, it is within acceptable parameters.
No! Do you specialise in giving ridiculous and inappropriate analogies that don't relate to the subject being discussed? To compare people who probably live with their family and friends around them who can provide at least some assistance, to an immigrant with literally nothing, is ridiculous. Frankly, even the most clueless and out of touch elitist should recognise that, and, let's be honest, that's not you, is it.
I'm gonna try this again, except this time, highlight the bits where old English blokes are being dicks: You're making an argument for your interlocutor, then saying why it's so wrong. Does stanger get to participate, or are you just going to play both sides?
He said he's known people who HAVE moved who have literally, nothing, implying the people in those places should move because they have either MORE than nothing, or the same, nothing. Is there any other way to see it? If so, maybe one of you can enlighten me
Holy hell. This 1000 times. I moved to STL a few years back. What they do to dough, sauce, and "cheese" here can't be called pizza. 1) crust is hammered out to paper thin ridiculousness. 2) Mix a can of store bought pasta sauce with melted watermelon jolly ranchers. That's the sauce. 3) use some kind of synthetic cheese blend that is equal parts synthetic cheese and recycled plastic. STL pizza consumed sober will do a bigger number on your digestive system than a 12 hour drinking binge capped of by a 3am White Castle run ever will. FWIW People don't get Chicago, because they fail to understand that deep dish isn't the true style of the city. It's something we are obligated to do for out of towners. The local version of a thin crust is the go to style.
I'm going to do what you should have done and let him answer so that THEN maybe you can attack that point of view, if he agrees.
I've heard this 4-dimensional chess type of argument from time to time. I remain unconvinced, and believe it to be a ruse to try to throw people off the trail.
Wrong, bad sex and bad pizza are both depressing as ********. When you know just how good something can be how can you enjoy a crappy version of it?
The worst Pizza I've ever eaten was in remote parts of the world where it's not commonly eaten, especially in a non baking and cheese culture. And it's always in some tourist trap because the locals assume that Westerners will eat the crap. The crust is too hard, the sauce is ketchupy and the cheese is stale. The worst I ever had was in a remote part of Morocco. It's a shame I even decided to have pizza that day because the local cuisine was amazing. Problem is that it was Ramadan and it was hard to find decent daytime food. My advice to anyone traveling to Morocco during Ramadan is just to observe like the locals do. Store some bread, cheese and dried fruit in your backpack if you need to cheat. The payoff at sundown is worth it.
Abu Dhabi Mall, Il Forno. The only thing they get remotely right is their use of a form of soujouk as a substitute for pepperoni. Ramadan in the Gulf consists of sneaking drinks of water and/or food in a closed room. Or going to a hotel restaurant that didn't have windows facing a street or public place. Just don't do it in the open, for the love of God. Not even water/coffee in your car. Actually, especially that. Bad idea.
Well immigrants also have families. I know I am being bias, but shit I have many family members that have made the move to a different country with different language, so I do not feel to bad for those that live in decaying areas that are unwilling to make a move to an area in the same mutherfvcking country.
The age of consent is a significant and important edge case. There are a number of positions that can be taken here, nearly all of which agree on a couple of things: 1. Children do not have the capacity to consent. 2. Adults (of any relationship) exploiting children are scum and violate the NAP and should be prosecuted. Most of the disagreement centers on what constitutes the age of consent/age of majority and how evil child-exploiters are on a scale of "very" to "should be subject to The Boats".
Well, there certainly may be "decent" people who voted for Trump for one reason or another. But at the end of the day, they (and all of us) are responsible for our actions. What did these people think would happen if the guy they voted for got elected? That he would actually try to implement some of the things he promised? Now, when the guy has been in office for 5 weeks, they realize what a mistake it was? Sorry, it's too late. If you had even remotely thought this through we might not be in this kind of predicament. Would the Hillary Administration be perfect? Hell no, but we would be talking about relatively "normal" stuff that would be happening in any administration, if it was Mitt Romney or Jeb Bush or any other garden-variety politician.
Safe spaces for Trumpsters! They raised a fuss about the local high school's seminar day on Civil Rights, because "racism is not a school subject." (History is a school subject, but never mind.) So now the superintendent ruled that those youths who feel offended by the subject and choose to skip school for the day, will be able to do so. So weak.
