I never said that. I stated I grew up a liberal - voted for Kerry, Obama and Ron Paul. 2016 [as with millions of ex-democrats] was my first time voting Republican. I know all of the cute liberal mantras: diversity is our strength, we owe it to the human species to help refugees, straight white men are evil. etc etc.
That is true. Obama is a great public speaker. He'd put you to sleep with his tap dancing answers. Obama was too busy trying to prove he's the smartest guy in the room and how he's going to save the World - instead of just focusing on America/Americans. After voting for him, by Year #2 I know he was a dud.....nothing more than a sweet talking community organizer.

I do not think he was a bad President. To me, he was the perfect non white, young and hip President to run after GWB. Spoke out against the Wars and Guantanamo Bay and then spent the next 7 years drone bombing and destabilzing foreign governments in the dark [as much as I despised GWB - he took actions publicly]. Surely this sub-forum recognizes Obama and Hillary's role in the 2015 Migrant Crisis (which is a major event in German history]
Certainly true. Speasking as a German, the German media was 100% behind Hillary - and even refused to acknowledge that many American voters had issues with her.
As a Canadian I have a lot of respect for Obama - and overall think he was a very good President. With that said, he had his own flaws (as everyone does). - While he kept unemployment low, he racked up the US debt to extreme levels. The net new jobs were almost all created in two industries (Real Estate and O&G), both of which were driven substantially by that debt and were unsustainable. - He dropped more bombs than any other president, and in doing so (along with pulling out of Iraq too hastily) created the vacuum that established further extremism. With that said.... you could clearly draw a line from this back to George Dubya as well. The thing with Obama however, is that I felt like his intentions were good - even when policies failed. Trump on the other hand is the inverse of that..... a myopic lunatic.
Then you guys aren't being fair by acting as if this is new or different. This reminds me of the children [CNN's Van Jones] that woke up the day after election night in tears out of fear that they will be attacked or deported. That was the parents fault for spreading such fearmongering. Mr.Jones had only himself and his questionable parenting to blame for that. So the Obama administration was either not honest or people are buying into the medias fearmongering. After 8 years of sweet talking Obama - is it shocking to see a politician actually do as they campaign and do it right out of the gate?
Right. I saw polls with Hillary having upwards of 93% support in Germany. That is simply shocking and reeks of propaganda. If Germany were a muslim majority nation angered by the muslim ban talk - then I can somewhat understand.
Very good is being quite generous. Average is about where I would place him. But your critique is fair. "Intentions were good". After hating and voting against GWB I had this same realization about him. He truly felt what he did was true and right.
That absolute statement is just wrong. You could find plenty of articles critical of her recognizing all the reservations and negative perceptions people had about her or talking about various supposed scandals. Sure, overall (the media isn't that one monolithic entity) they saw her as the more favorable option. But that is partly because how absurd Trump is to many people outside the US.
No, what is shocking that Trump is trying to create total deportation state and deport for misdeameanors, traffic tickets, fake id holders and so on. He says he has a big heart, while Mother of 3 is getting deported, because she had a fake id. At least Obama did not separate immediate families.
I don't know how they helped him cheat but they definitely did. We will find out in time. Nobody I know in Berlin has a warped view of Trump. And this is the biggest and most metropolitan city in the country.
He left the country in a much better shape than he took it. Guys like Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders don't come very often.
If Trump gave up over the grey areas but fought to get rid of anchor babies (from now on) - would you support that?

That's one rule that does not exist here. I don't like the citizenship laws in this country. Hopefully it'll change in a few years when it's time for me to take my oath.
