Hi Barnet FC fan in peace. We have just signed Ruben Bover after he came for a trial. Are you able to tell us what to expect as he isn't particularly well known in the UK. Thanks

Solid two way playing midfielder. Excellent skills; passes beautifully. Can play in the center or the wing. We were really, really hoping he would be back for us.

All the best to you and him.

Our loss is your gain. He took a gamble to play on a reserve side after being dropped from MLS and it paid off. We are very sorry to lose him. He probably would have become a starter if it wasn't for our money woes. His best asset is his pass distribution. We play a 4-3-3 and a 1-4-1-4 and he fit well in those formation.

He earned great praise with this goal from a hard angle.

Bover earned Player of the week honors in 2016.

Here is a summary of Bover from a local website.
Bover, 24, made the move stateside in 2013 to sign with the New York Red Bulls and went on to make 22 appearances in two seasons with the Major League Soccer side. The Spaniard was waived by the Red Bulls weeks before the start of the 2015 season, but found a new home with the Cosmos. He shined with the team’s reserve side Cosmos B in his first year, picking up NPSL (US '4th' division) MVP honors and helping the team claim a league title in its first season. Bover’s productive run in the NPSL earned him a full-time spot with the Cosmos first team and he did not disappoint. The midfielder recorded four goals and two assists through 24 appearances in the team’s run to the championship last year.

Best of luck in your promotion push to League 1.

Thanks for the info guys and all the best in your season. Sounds like a good replacement for the left winger we just sold.

I don't know about Seba, thought he would have been signed by now, maybe he is entertaining offers from other clubs?

We resigned Walter Restrepo! Didn't see that one coming. I guess it is better to get minutes in NASL that than sit on the bench in MLS. Restrepo had limited playing time with the Union.

I speculate that Maurer got an MLS offer as a 2nd or 3rd backup keeper, but refused that to be a starting GK.

Gio has done a great job reacquiring Cosmos players; sure there are some misses and a few still out there but basically he has as many returning players as any club could expect.

Maintaining continuity, in this off season, is a miracle and Gio has done it. Thanks Rocco for pulling the team out of a desperate hole but without Gio more of these players would have scattered to the winds.

Knowing there's many quality NASL players still available to complete the team I'm hoping that they stay away from a big money signing; I want the team to survive. There's probably about 8 more players to be added for the spring season; I'm trusting Gio to sign players that once again make the team competitive.

2 marquee players at least are needed, I'd suggest Ledesma/Muntari, Berbatov and Amauri

Anyone heard anything about the possibility of Seba coming back? After that article on Empire of Soccer about his injury, rehab & the personal strife not getting paid caused him I thought he might be one of the first players they brought back. In addition, I think signing him would be a great PR move to correct one of the worst stories from the dark days where it looked like the team was dead.

Haven't heard anything since that article, I agree 100% with you. If they sing him they clean the image up a bit, plus he's a good player who will comeback and contribute. I wounded why Gio hasn't done it yet.

I still would like to see a couple of the B team guys come in for depth, a couple of attacking players and of course Seba.

Evengi Starikov would give them forward depth to challenge Herrera for a starting role as well as a Ukrainian with Russian Premier League experience marketable to the Russian community

Cosmos close to sign Samaras for the 2017 season. Zaragoza could only offer him 5 months

Mancini's back, adds an option in attack. I don't recall seeing him on the field last year, not much I could comment on him as a player. I hope he contributes and helps the club. I'm still holding out hope for Seba to return.
Samaras wouldn't be bad but we can do without specially for the price tag I imagine he has.

Do you hate the Cosmos or something?! I don't know what happened to him, but he fell into complete obscurity. I like a good redemption story, but it'll take a lot.
