I don't watch him enough to comment, but I wonder how his left foot is........maybe he could try LWB too?

Golaaazo de Paul Arriola! 4-1 Xolos to seal the deal.

He coolly slots home the ball on a runaway counter. A goal that he should score really, but it was nice how surely he fired it home.

Arriola on current form is a top two winger in our pool. Would allow moving Pulisic off RW.

    ----------------Wood---------
    Fabulous-----Pulisic------Arriola

would be far better than the Cupcake crap we just witnessed. That would actually be worth watching.

    Not especially strong.

On the goal it seemed like he started from a higher position than a RWB, was he moved up?

He played ahead of the RB, I think.

I like me some Arriola, but he's just not in the same class as Lozano, dude is a savage beast.

Would be a good year for him to break through. Still a U23.

I know this isn't the time to try new things, be with the way he's playing, he's gotta be creeping up on someone like Bedoya right now.

That is exactly who he should be replacing. Hopefully sooner than later.

I don't dislike Bedoya, who certainly is industrious in his defensive efforts, but the fact that Arriola has as many goals for the US in 3 caps as Bedoya does in 57 might be revealing.

As teams and players, on a personal level, evolve, some players become obsolete. Like a tape player. As our defense is evolving, our wide play has to evolve toward production. Bedoya was what was needed when Donovan moved inside. More cover on the right. Now we attack with 3 mids and 2 fwds. If say Bobby Wood became a dominant force, he would make the second fwd dispenceable. We have some mids that could make 4 and 1 up top viable. Same with the defense. If it was lock down quality, 433 or 4123 could work. As we evolve, the best defense is not giving up the ball. Hopefully we is headed in that direction.

BTW, arriola outside of pulisic on the right would bring a lot of heat. Did you see green's finish? Just saying.

“People say, ‘What have you done differently’ or ‘How come it’s working now,’ and honestly I’m not quite sure I have the answer to why it’s working, but the end product is there for me now,” Arriola said. “It’s something that’s given me a lot of confidence, not just the way I’m playing, but the end product … It’s really opened me up and allowed me to be the player I am but with a lot more sense of calmness.”

Ariola, Green, Hyndman should pressure the incumbents, and knock at least one out.
