Wow. Any reason why? I thought she loved it down there?

There's been chatter than the CSA is not happy how not-prominent many of their allocated players are. I would not be surprised if they're de-allocating even more players to let them get more game time and more money elsewhere.

I don't think Kyle is really part of any future plans for the CANWNT. More than likely she was already going to be deallocated and Orlando doesn't want to pick up the tab. She has a green card now so wouldn't affect international slots. She may very well retire and just move to Atlanta.

What I want to know is how did you find out that she has a green card and that she wants to move to Atlanta? LOL!!
You should consider applying for the NWSL press secretary position, which is probably non-existent at this point.:)

She's been dating an MLS player that was picked up by the new Atlanta team from Orlando City. The green card news I recall being on Twitter sometime in the late fall.

Which is patently unfair. Canada over values their talent and when they do have players who can start, they play elsewhere because the CSA simply doesn't pay them well enough that they have any incentive to stay in the NWSL.

I don't know about "patently unfair." If they are paying their salaries for these owners, it seems fair enough that they would want a certain prominence. Maybe the NWSL owners are undervaluing them since they don't foot the bill. Maybe not, but don't complain when CSA pulls their funding.

If the CSA was offering their players the same money the US allocated player get then I don't see any of them playing overseas.
    Goalkeepers: Stephanie Labbe, Sabrina D'Angelo.
Defenders: Kadeisha Buchanan, Rebecca Quinn, Shelina Zadorsky, Josee Belanger, Allysha Chapman, Rhian Wilkinson.
Midfielders: Jessie Fleming, Ashley Lawrence, Diana Matheson, Deanne Rose, Sophie Schmidt, Desiree Scott.
Forwards: Janine Beckie, Nichelle Prince, Christine Sinclair, Melissa Tancredo.
That's the Canadian Olympic team .... the only one u can make a case for is Labbe who was the starter in DC but got hurt and they decided t stay with Wys. What Canada wants to know is why players not good enough to be on the OG roster aren't starting in the NWSL?

That really hasn't been an issue. Last year, the CSA went into cost cutting mode and dumped a lot of veteran players not just from the national team post WWC, but along with that dumping their allocation. They kept Kyle's allocation in place on the promise that Sermanni was going to play her, which he did - started 16 games, 2 sub appearances and believe 1 game she was not available.

That only goes for so long, though. Alternate for the Olympics, not going to be a part of the cycle going forward so Canada drops her allocation.

Actually turns out that is not the case. Green card issues, would in fact require an international slot which is why Orlando didn't try to keep her.

Canada has done a lousy job supporting the NWSL First it's a crap argument that if my player isn't starting in the NWSL why should we be paying for her. What Canada is paying for is to have their player get 7 months in a professional training environment. Second, most of the players they r complaining about don't start for Canada either. Why do they feel their backups r suddenly starter material just because they r free. Truth is if Canada dropped support and their players needed an INT spot to play in the league, most of them wouldn't get into the NWSL. Thirdly, if there is truth to Vancouver being interested in a team, ud think Canada would be upping their support for the league not reducing it.

Are you saying she had issues receiving her Green Card?

ETA: Sorry, your wording threw me off. Went and looked a bit at her social media from the time and, back in October, she was celebrating the Green Card *approval*, not receipt. Odd, but you have to be careful with those things, especially if you plan on leaving the country.

And I do feel for Kyle who did go out of her way to stay with the Pride instead of going to Brazil to hang out as an alternate. Still I have little doubt that Kyle would still be with the Pride if either she had been allocated or she had her Green card. It was just unfortunate.

I saw today there was confusion about Kyle & her Green Card application. My understanding is that she has only applied for a Green Card... she is not expected to actually get one for months. It means Orlando would still have to use an international slot on her.

The Pride: Are in a tough situation (They put themselves there). They have little to no assets worth trading and major needs, they also has too many internationals with not enough spots. They have too many defenders (though defensive back 5 may be one of the best in the league "on paper") , not enough midfield "specific" players and no firepower going forward.
Moves that could work : Lisa de Vanna to Red Stars for Sofia Huerta and a draft pick- Dames is Rumored to be interested in de Vanna and Huerta wasn't at her best last year but still better than what the pride has currently.

    - Waive: Pressley, Fields and Hagen (Yes i said it) or find a trade for them if possible to at least get something in return

    - Sign the draft picks to at least have some depth in midfield. They are young but good enough plus Pride don't have many options .

    - Then there's that trade they made for Rachel Hill so she must be in their plans and she's a forward

Surprised about DeVanna. Ud think with Morgan arriving late both sides would have seen it as a good opportunity. Wouldn't be surprised to see Catley moved up into a more attacking role.

@kernel_thai Yeah but they are currently over their available international spots so de Vanna at 32 would be most likely to go plus Sermanni did say she was signed short term. Catley going higher could work and play camilla behind her, would be a wasted intl; spot to have her on the bench

De Vanna is supposedly not returning so she won't take up an international slot:

Whoa, I'm still holding out that hagen can find her scoring touch. What was it that made her so succesful in Germany?!? Was it simply the competition?

I've followed Sarah Hagen's career since college and have been a big fan over the years. I used to drive from Chicago to Milwaukee many Sunday's to watch her play at UW-Milwaukee and I've seen that kid score unbelievable goals. She did great in Germany. However, now it seems she can't get at the end of the ball to put it in the net, This is the pros. She needs to be more mobile and fight to get to the ball. If she doesn't pick it up this season, I believe her pro career will become short.

IZIE and others, what do feel about Sarah Hagen and her her place on the team? Where is she lacking? Skill? Nose for goal? Speed? Mobility? What is it?

Oh, BTW, we in Chicago DO NOT want to give up Sofia Huerta for Lisa De Vanna. I don't think De Vanna is a Rory Dames type of player. We love Sofia Huerta in Chicago. Where did you hear that rumor?

The rumor did not say Huerta would be the one traded, but based on the squad and her not doing that great last year, she is said to be most likely.

*Hal kaisers stated dames was interested in de Vanna

When? Jen Cooper said on the Mixxed Zone week before last that Sermanni told her De Vanna was not returning. That's the only thing I've seen about De Vanna.

We'll give them Mautz, but not Huerta. She is a fan favorite for one and Rory likes her from what I've seen from my view in the stands behind the bench.

Huerta had a good season last year, on the contrary. Scored some very important goals and don't forget, she was moved to midfield in the second part of the season to make room for McCaffry where IMO, she did very well.
Huerta is a big part of the Red Stars game. If I had to be honest, it's Colaprico who wasn't as sharp last season as she was her rookie year.

NOW, having said that, this is Christen Press's team and IMO, Rory will put on the field whomever Christen Press has the best chemistry with. Also, the Red Stars want to win NOW, so you never know what kind of changes they will make.
