OFFICIAL: #SportingKC acquires forward Christian Volesky (@CVolesky12) in a trade with @TimbersFC.Details ➡️ https://t.co/vsFao6onEk pic.twitter.com/IiAezVnmbI— Sporting Kansas City (@SportingKC) January 9, 2017 Volesky comes from Rochester, but Portland gets their bag-of-balls 4th round pick because Volesky was an unsigned Portland draft pick in 2015. One thing that caught my eye: Am I misremembering or is this more detailed than normal? I usually remember press releases saying "per league/club policy, contract terms are not disclosed" or something like that.
SKC shoring up the forward/winger corps with the departures of Davis, Peterson, Hallisey, and Mapp. Fernandes, Blessing, and Volesky - with the return of Salloi from Hungary - looks like a much improved forward roster to go with Dwyer. On paper, anyway. Much younger as well.
The thought of Dom Kinnear and Darwin Quintero in the same locker room--not gonna work. Inflexible old school coach, super-talented Spanish-speaking player with an attitude. That would go for any similar player and Kinnear. I applaud the Earthquakes if they really are trying a serious makeover to bring themselves up to MLS 3.0, but they needed to send Dom packing with Doyle. On the other hand, the sparks flying here might make the season that much more enjoyable for the neutral.
Some teams are actually starting to do this. Every one of KC's contract signings this offseason, from Feilhaber, to Ellis, to Fernandes, to Blessing and Velosky have all mentioned the years of the contracts and option years.
Note: United is in contract talks to bring back a former MLS player, a source said. #MNUFC. https://t.co/DncFM155gb— Andy Greder (@andygreder) January 10, 2017

Well, to be fair, MLS Transfers is in semi-retirement, no? At least as far as really squeezing the sources.
Well, the guy that tweets under MLSTransfers does have a full time 9-5 job and he has said that his priority is focusing on the thing that actually pays him.
SKC signs Cameron Iwasa from Sacramento. They've poached two young forwards out of USL so far this offseason (including Volesky).
I think they are both pretty good follows. Honestly haven't been following either long, but it is cool to have a couple of places on line that can consolidate all the rumors and movement.
