Different positions and all, but I think he's better than Elneny (albeit with the same ballwatching and walkabout tendencies).

IF he learns some patience I'd let him play at the base o the midfield before moving him on.

I think he'd be a fine replacement for Santi IF Wenger can get him to do two things- first, recognize his role is to link play and no longer to be upfield and, more importantly, his job is to make sure he doesn't lose possession.

He hasn't set the world on fire since going to Bournemouth and has lost a lot of confidence. I'm not optimistic he'll come back or that he'd do well if he came back.

I thought we should have cashed when City came knocking some years ago. Now Bournemouth is on the rise and Howe likes him so let's make sure the transfer is done.

Wilshere replacing Santi is a huge drop in quality. He's a fine player but far from being in a team that's suppose to challenge for trophies. I think Isco would be ace but Zizou loves him.

Maybe that Dahoud kid if he doesn't move to Liverpool.

    Ray Wilkins is a clown

90% of the idiots on talk sport are thick ex pros like Wilkins and Stuart Pearce or the insufferable Micky Quinn

The level of knowledge, considering they played top level football for years is so low

Yet they get to spout their opinions on the radio for thousands to hear

    Talk sport is embarrassing sometimes

i think a lot of them subscribe to the, y'know, hustle-and-bustle above all. so, y'know, ozil is just overrated where someone like wilshere is amazing.

    Since we're talking about Wilshere:

806542151601496064 is not a valid tweet id

I'm not sure how much of this is rust and how much of this is schematic: it looks like Wilshere isn't defending at all at Bournemouth, and while he hasn't had any goals or assists, his key pass numbers are actually quite good. Haven't watched Bournemouth at all, so if someone has, is Wilshere basically playing as a 10 at Bournemouth?

That's useless. Needs to play deeper to have an impact, but even if being a 10 isn't his natural role, Wilshere should have more of an impact than this.

He is still a good dribbler

His defensive numbers are poor too.

IDK, I dont think he will have a future at Arsenal.

An attacking midfielder who doesn't shoot generally doesn't have a bright future, period.

I think he's done at Arsenal. If people are pulling hairs at Ramsey's side passing and Xhaka's poordefensive numbers, then how can Jack be the solution?

because he doesnt play at Arsenal at the moment.

And because the Arsenal fanbase has always been hysterical about Wilshere.

Sad to hear on TalkSport last night that Deli Alli has more goals in his last 4 games than Jack has in 9 years.

I get the hysteria: he hasn't played for Arsenal in ages, he's been with the club since he was nine, and he's obviously talented. But he's not going to make it at Arsenal.

He won't "make it" anywhere. He's not as good as some of our ignorant supporters want him to be.

Depends on how you define "make it." He's certainly good enough to play a lot of games for the likes of Everton or Southampton.

But the fans who are mad he is on loan with the CM shortage we have now are deluded.

    let me amend

    upper midtable crust.

The Evertons and Southamptons. He isnt good enough to play with anyone in the current top 6.

He works for Bournmouth because he has good ball control and they can knock it in to him under pressure and retain possession rather than a riskier pass and get countered. But they can play the exact same way without him, he doesn't add a tangible benefit to their game other than that extra level of quality in the final third. Usually its finding himself in space to look up and make a smart pass. He is really playing a advanced 8 for Bournmouth and his stats bear that out.

At Arsenal he isn't a 10, I would be interested seeing him and Ramsey share the 8 position based on opposition, and let Xhaka sit, but ultimately the position should be Jeff's. Z needs to be learning Xhaka's natural role though I don't think he has a future up the pitch.
