He had Marcelo and Casemiro on him all game, too. I'd say he was the most marked man on the field, even more than CR.
Taking out Benzema instead of the gassed Casemiro or half-lost James was a mistake. This Dortmund side is beyond impressive.
Reus / Auba and Pulisic CAN play together. They have many times this year. Dembele should have been the one to come off.
I understand you were trying to make a short post, but if you had said in your first post something that better reflected the below post, then I don't think anyone would have a problem. But you don't do that. Either you backtrack on your posts after realizing you said something stupid or you intentionally try to get a rise out of people - I'm not sure which.
Of course they can play together, that's why they started. But the whole point was tiring the Real's central midfield, which they did. That CP wasn't as involved in the attack as Castro or Dembele is not criticism, it just was not his role. He and Schurrle were there to tire the heck out of the DM. Dembele didn't have one of his best games, but he kept stretching Casemiro to the left because Rodriguez is a defensive liability. If you watch the last goal, the guy who was too tired to follow was Casemiro.
Dude, show me where I said he played badly. All I said is that he was not as involved in attack, and that he was tired. That should be evident even to someone rooting for him. And he clearly was not BVB's best player.
Gentlemen, our 18-year old star just started vs. Real Madrid in the Champions League for a team who just won their group. I thought he looked quite good when he wasn't isolated. Unfortunately, that wasn't often enough. Still, great showing once again.
Yes, we should turn this PBP into an argument between posters for the next few pages. cmon guys you are both wrong and right and it doesn't even matter.
Okay showing from him. Mostly involved in safe possession maintaining short sequences, no standout mistakes, no standout positives except for a decent setup that didn't pan out. Going to be a lot of games like this for him for a while yet, assuming he keeps getting starts.
It's unnerving how guided by emotions fans here are. Basically you have to say every dang game that our player was by far the best on the field or they jump on your throat. Well, that's not how it works. If you want to learn to analyze a game properly, leave the emotional baggage aside. No wonder they call us "nads."
Show me where I said you said he played badly. I understand what you said and don't disagree. But the post the @FirstStar quoted is easily misinterpreted (assuming you weren't backtracking in later posts). This happens all the time with you. You either do it intentionally, backtrack, or have really poor communication skills.
