Wow, ok, that's one way of doing it. Most coaches would of closed up shop after going up 2. I'm sure Swansea fans will take it.
This has to be the worst set piece defending I've ever seen. 5 set piece goals, nearly all of which were caused by poor defending, and 1 fluke own goal off Jack Cork. At least the Sigurdsson free kicks were high quality, the Crystal Palace ones were looping takes that should have been defended much more effectively. Bob Bradley has a lot of work to do.
Bob moves from Charlie Strong dead-man-walking territory to plain old hot seat - at least til next week
Leroy Fer spoke to BBC after the match: Swansea midfielder Leroy Fer: “We deserved it but we made it hard for ourselves. “The gaffer spoke about it before the game - they are strong in set pieces attacking but we are strong as well. “We got four goals - or five goals - from set pieces. “Three points is massive for us and we have to keep going.”
That was an insane game. As everyone mentioned above, just awful set piece defending. its tough to be a manager because sometimes there isn't a clear line of what is your responsibility (fault) and what is the players' (when you think about terrible set piece defending, I would expect some sort of base level of competency from some of these players that seems to go wanting at times). However, the fight that the team showed at 4-3, refusing to give up, in my opinion is directly attributable to Bob. We saw it for the US: Bradley teams works their butts off and don't give up, and Swansea did that today. Congrats to them and to Bob (because that is who we are actually cheering for here!)
3 points is 3 points. Bizarre game, but it should give a lift to the players, and buy Bob at least another month at the helm. Next week is Tottenham, but a series of winnable games to follow.
Yup. Me too. Gave up at 4-3. Bobs boys have now taken 4 of 6 points. Hamid was there working out - he might be an improvement. I'd also be on the phone about Matt Besler. He is instilling belief; maybe a couple buys in January saves the year
First win by an American manager in the EPL. Milestone. This should take a little pressure off. Bradley needs time to bring in reinforcements.
