Could they be making an ironic political statement against Trump? Either way, it takes balls to pull that in SF, and it looks like a pretty recognizable house.
I love my country, and the freedom we're given to express free speech that we take for granted all too often. As a Jew, and as much as I want to burn that shit down, my emotion is really just sadness.
It not a happy acceptance. The man with the most electoral votes won, that is democracy. Just like we should criticize the "deplorables" if they would have lost and burned shit.
Dumb fvcking people, many lefties are having a Rachael Maddow type melt down. Svck it up and go out to vote in 2 fvcking years (sooner for local elections).
Ill say as a queer man of minority religion under 30, We are hurt. Many of us feel like we have been subject to an act of violence by our society. It says we don't want you. We don't like you. We hate you. I have friends who were in tears. Friends in fear for their safety. I've had to tell the teens at work to not say "Grab em by the pussy" in the library. I had to listen to homophobic and racist comments all day from co-workers and patrons. We don't have to get over it right now. We don't have to accept this. We don't have to respect him. Will a marriage to another man exist in this new world? Will it be okay for people to deny me service, jobs, housing in this new world? If I am attacked will anyone be punished? Will anyone care? You bitches whined about Obama for 8 years, I can be angry about a Alt-Right white supremacist and a dominionist at the top of our society. If you are privileged enough to brush this off, congratulations
I feel ya. I am an avid rock climber and one of my climbing partners is an American of Bolivian descent. Our hobby takes us (regularly) into Drumpf territory. I have heard the "go back to where you came from" type of talk from locals in New River Gorge. I have been told (in a threatening manner) while climbing in Potomac State Forest in Western Maryland that the town was a "sundown town." I will let you google that in case you don't know what it is. It's not going to stop me though. And it should not stop us. Today is not the day to give into fear. Fear is what got us in this mess in the first place. Fear is at the heart of all of this, and fear will not be the thing that saves us.
Affluent straight white males will barely notice a change in their lifestyle over the next 4 years. People on the fringes will. There is a slice of Trump voters who will feel validated that racism is now okay in the open. If the president can be racist in public, why can't they? One of the saddest things is imagining the thoughts of a young 16-17 year old Muslim American citizen or Hispanic American citizen who might have an illegal parent. Just as they embark on adulthood, this country just gave them a massive middle finger and said that they're not welcomed in the new America.

Cool movement you've got there. Every so often someone will appear on a balcony or in a window and people will boo loudly and flick them off. pic.twitter.com/1RvlnC9dSg— Philip Bump (@pbump) November 10, 2016
These kids have never seen someone they didn't support win. Just imagine for a moment that Hillary won last night and Trump supporters were burning a Hillary effigy. Coverage would be a tad different. https://t.co/inm5mqgTc5— The Darkest Timeline Numbersmuncher (@NumbersMuncher) November 10, 2016
And I'm calling bullshit. Nailing folks to a cross because Dem voters didn't turn out is arrogant at best. There is no massive rise in the right wing movement. It was the left who let itself down on multiple levels.
I was doing no such thing. Just pointing out that some vulnerable groups are living this election result differently than others who are on more stable footing and are relatively insulated from Trump's policies. I'm obviously thinking of Muslims. Also anyone that has an illegal relative that they care about. Anyone with a pre existing condition that is making ends meet with the ACA. Anyone that's worried about police racial profiling. Anyone that's been a victim of sexual assault and been shamed, threatened and discredited in the process. People on the fringes will feel this more viscerally because Trump validates all that awfulness. This was basically my criticism of Johnson voters this election. It's a vote of privilege. It says that I'm going to be fine regardless of who wins so I can afford to have these principles. The difference between Clinton and Trump was that she wasn't attacking vulnerable segments of the electorate. The worst thing she said about anyone is that some Trump voters are deplorable. All the corruption in the world is still better IMO than scapegoating and singling out people in our communities who are already marginalized and vulnerable.
Hillary was the prohibitive favorite, yet distrusted at best and loathed at worst, so many Dems/Obama voters didn't bother showing up. And that allowed an angry and forgotten electorate push Trump into office.
It means if you ain't in the group that won't be negatively affected by this man's time in office and his party's choice of Supremes (privilege), good on you (congratulations)
You did and continue to do that thing. Then you make a list of all these victims from...Johnson supporters? Trump did not get a titanic turnout and there is no huge right wing rising. Dems stayed home for whatever reason. Trump put his casino chips in the Rust Belt and won. A 16-17 year old Muslim was let down by Dems not Johnson votes.
