I think she was the wrong candidate to do anything about that while male protest vote. Even Bernie would have done better with those voters It's very similar to Brexit in that you can just feed these people a con job and they will bite at it Clinton has no answer to that stuff because she is a centrist neo-lib
When an election like this happens and every pollster and analyst gets it wrong, degrees of rightness have to be considered. Silver's hypothesis was closer than most.
Didn't she campaign in Michigan in the last days? They certainly don't seem as savvy as Obama on that front. However from what I have seen so far, they reached people, its just they did not persuade or motivate enough of them
Also this quote from the article I just posted: I said this on this board months and months ago. Several times. Mook is a political organizer, not campaign strategist. They never had a message. They just had an organization. The guy with a message won.
I didn't read the whole thing, but the following exemplifies the difference between Bill Clinton ("It is the Economy, Stupid", "I still believe in a place called Hope") and Hillary (who was effectively painted, and for good reason, as merely standing for "business as usual"):
Here's some of what I said back in May about Clinton needing a strategist: Yup: a fcuking Hillary Clinton campaign.
Saying Blacks and Hispanics should be treated like people isn't "kill whitey". If there are people that think that way, I don't want them in my party.
With what happened in the UK and now this, IMO we are seeing the end of the market liberal era that swept in under Reagan and Thatcher Expect more heavy touch government IMO
The deciding factor in this election wasn't the 'racist' or 'sexist' vote. Those have gone to the Republicans when they have lost and when they have won. To focus on that issue is to miss the boat.
AP, Fox, and CNN have all called it. Clinton conceded according to Trump. And just stuck the knife in her and declared her service to the country over.
So, is he going to keep his promise and put Hillary in jail? From what the assclown is saying right now looks like that's the first promises that he'll be breaking. Is not going to take long before his supporters begin to feel the disappointment.
Every one should be treated like people should be the message. At the end thinking that we Latinos were just going to vote against the bigot over economic populism was wrong. This includes my self, my own self delusion believed Trump was going to get less than 20% of the Latino vote with a high turn out. The fvcker got 29%.
I think some of the people that supported the Democratic Primary process should also reconsider. The reforms that Bernie was talking about are critical for the future. The primary can't just be an exercise for party members. You have to let independents vote, same day registrations, get rid of caucuses and get rid of super delegates .... Bernie wasn't right on a lot of things, but he was 100% spot on when it came to party structure reform. The party is too weak to carry the nominee into the general. The primary needs to be an enthusiasm building exercise with an open door for anyone that wants to join. This is the test lab where ideas can be put out into the voting market. That experience and those lessons can then be reapplied into the general election.
