Just saw movie on peles. Was a good watch.

How much of the movie was fact vs fiction.

    1. Was the coach against dribbling the ball, if so why would he select pele and garincha in the first place. Seemed glossed and glorified for the movie.

    2. Peles rivalry against forward mazzalo, seemed madeup.

3.comments made by swedish manager to slight brazil players. Seemed madeup.

Can ppl who are more aware of peles history and has seen the movie care to comment.

    1. Coach Feola didn't want Garrincha because he didn't mark/wasn't good defensively, Pelé was just rested, I think. But allegedly the squad demanded that both become starters and Feola ended up agreeing with it.

    2. I have never heard of any rivalry between them, but Mazzola has criticized Pelé after both retired and back when Mazzola was playing in Brazil, he played for Palmeiras, so a rivalry between back then is credible, I think. Pelé was very young though and Mazzola left after the 1958 World Cup but they met again in the 1963 Intercontinental Cup, when Santos beat Milan to win the title.

    3. I think this is credible, this kind of 'mind games' is hardly anything new.
