If you got a Huckerby one, I have a 10 year old boy who would be very happy to take it off of your hands.

This isn't news but is still irritating. Flew out from Terminal A at SJC yesterday and not a single Quakes item in the gift shop opposite security.

They had a section in the gift shop in Terminal B when I flew out earlier this month.

I came in/out of Term A last weekend and no Quakes merchandise that I could see...though lots of other branded gear.

    I do have a Huckerby.

Does anyone have one of those green/Irish scarfs I see around the necks of some lucky few that they want to swap for some agreed upon price?

The Giants do a great job of representing cultures and backgrounds in their merchandise, wish we'd follow suit...

I predict that after tonight's game there will be LOTS of unwanted Quakes gear.

Does anyone have a Donovan Quakes jersey from 2001-2004? Or just the plain 2003-2004 team jersey

Not sure if this is the thread to post to, but I've designed a "Never Say Die" t-shirt and it's available in tri-blend black, royal blue, and red. It's a bilateral ambigram (it reads the same in the mirror) and the letters are made up of little Goonies skulls:

It's available for pre-order at a place called Cotton Bureau. They work like this: I submit a design; if more than 12 people pre-order, it goes to print; they handle printing and fulfillment. I've hit the 12 order mark so it will go to print. And their print quality is awesome; they use water-based inks on soft Next Level t-shirts. (Disclaimer: I get a cut of $1/shirt which is the smallest I can set it to unless I want to change my status to a non-profit.)

    Thanks for looking.

Word has it that the 2017 San Jose Earthquakes primary uniform will officially be revealed by the middle of next month.

Whether there'll be a leaked photo of it beforehand is anyone's guess, though.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

Are MLS teams now changing their jerseys every year? I don't really feel like buying a jersey that often ...

I think teams are on a 2 or 3 year cycle. I can remember a few years back in England there was a lot of criticism of teams changing their kit every year to increase sales.

Right, but I think the EPL is still changing them every year, aren't they? So now MLS is doing annual jerseys as well? Wasn't last year the first year of SutterHealth? I have such a lousy memory. But now I'm glad I didn't buy a SutterHealth jersey yet, if they are changing it already.

I just gave a bunch of old Quakes jerseys away cuz my closet has too many jerseys in it.

I don't think the Sutter Health sponsorship was just one year, so we will likely still have them on the jersey. What is changing is the design of the jersey.

    Kbrun20,

When the Quakes returned to play at Buck Shaw stadium, they had to clean out storage sheds and move to different facilities. the Quakes gave VHS tapes of just about every one of their MLS s games and some others to Soccer Silicon Valley for donation to the Soccer Legacy Collection at History San Jose. The tapes are housed in the Collection Warehouse right across the street from the History park. I and Dorothy (Original Quakes Gal on Bigsoccer) made a handwritten inventory which are with the 5 or 6 boxes of videotapes. For years we've tried to find volunteers who would transfer those videotapes to a hard drive or some sort of better storage. After several years you never know how long these tapes will last.

If this is a project you'd like to take on, let Don Gagliardi know. He is an SSV Board member and a Board member of the History Museum. I can also meet people at the collection center and help with the sorting of tapes.

Its already been taken care of. I started the project last year coordinating with Katrina of the museum. I have already transferred everything digitally that was worth keeping or in a acceptable quality by museum standards.

Quite a few tapes were damaged that weren't the original tape recordings from the Earthquakes. However they were noted and the Quakes have noted they do have digital copies of everything so archival access can be obtained.

So far 1996-2000, and all promotional tapes/commericals have been digitally transferred to a Hard Drive and returned for upload in there archives.

Sometime this summer I will begin 2001-2005.

Thanks for keeping me in mind.

Your hand writing was doctor-esq ;).

    1. You are correct about my handwriting. It is not good at the best of times and working with a clipboard in hand pawing through the boxes and trying to figure out how to categorize and label them (especially the duplicate or even triplicate copies) was difficult and made things worse.

    2. THANK YOU , THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    3. These tapes have weighed heavily on my mind ever since John Jussen and I delivered them to the Collection Center . When I couldn't find anyone to copy them I started looking into what I could buy to use here at home. I did buy a $100 gizmo a couple of years ago but I have not been able to find the time or right equipment to do it myself. It is on my "to-do" list without knowing how or when I would get to it. I did not know that others were being asked to help through other channels.

To hear now that they are being converted is wonderful. I think they are a valuable asset, assuming they can get copied before the VHS tape disintegrates. There are even some Beta tapes, including an interview of Landon Donovan in there and some I could't identify. Some of those tapes were the KICU-TV36 broadcast tapes, and those then had in some cases a 2nd or 3rd copy with , I assume, each copy losing clarity.

I am sorry to ramble on but this is a big deal to me personally. I accompanied Jed to the Quakes storage locker which had to be cleaned out. Since he offered it to me and I accepted I have felt responsible for getting it done if no one else would.

You made my day. You are the type of fan Soccer Silicon Valley appreciates so much, part of the "Club" whose efforts bond us all together . And Katrina continues to do such good work, as well.

(Oh, and did I say THANK YOU? ).
