I would call up Vela for the next two friendlies for him to get accustomed with the team before the nad match, imo.
Everyone has been puttin' work for a call up. Jona, Fabián, Cheech, Vela... Jona must definitely be playing against the nads. Same thing with Fabián if he keeps consistency...
I'm salivating at every minute Jona, Vela, Fabian & Giovani are playing well with their clubs. These guys need to be called up. PERIOD.
Where are people getting this Vela's playing well stuff from? Dude played the same today as he's been playing for the last two years... the team letting him take the penalty doesn't change that. I agree about Gio and Fabian tho.
Idk, he's never really gone at them with a full force squad. His ball control and vision could be a major asset late in a match.
Vela wasn't the same after the torn meniscus on his knee. It wasn't until mid/late of last season he was showing good progress in match fitness and play level. This season, he has been moving very well and his overall on the ball skill is still top-notch -- he may not scoring goals off the bat but the rest of his game has return to peak levels. That is what I mean.
Vela has the best football IQ from the NT. He's had that for years and despite looking like shit for Mexico he's pulling good numbers. If Hernandez or Herrera had the same form, they wouldn't be as effective.
Cheech, Raul, Vela, Gio, and Puildo. It's a shame Mexico has no strikers. The Glory days of Kikin, Bravo and a past prime Borgetti are over.
Would be interesting to see Jimenez and Chicharito start up front together. We're going to need height and a physical presence like Raul in there. I'd also like to see Salcedo in the back.
Thats one of the most interesting combinations that we could have and go along with. Jimenez because of the height and what he has been doing recently and Chicharito because.....................................well we know what Chicharito has done before with his unique style of play.
