Sorry, haven't seen anything about why he was out.

He was suffering from post-concussion symptoms. He was at the game Saturday night but was not among the players warming up. Hopefully he'll be ready for Saturday, we sure missed him and his big mouth out there...

Star-Ledger said that he is out this Saturday as well.

noticed that too, forgot to investigate. Probably a mistake? Nugent retired this year (think he was still developmental) early in the season. Could have come back (empty developmental spot present) but then where was Gilberto? Will look into this later.

edit: interestingly, his profile came back online under the MLSNET roster (checked it at the start of the game and searched for a press release)

2nd edit: but it's gone now and Gilberto is listed as #25

You've never noticed how he has something to say about every single call made, even if the call has nothing to do with him. He would have whined to the ref about that first goal for the next half hour, sometimes his stuff is a bit uncalled for but some days you're gald he doesn't know how to shut-up.

Yeah, I like Mike but he does whine a whole lot...I forget which game, but he was going on about going to Tashi Station to pick up some power converters...man, what a whiner!

Yea, but at least he was productive when he was with us (over his career, I know he went out with a whimper, but even then he had a fantastic first half...). Same can't be said for Magee...

We are much better without him on the field. Compare our midfield play this past Saturday to that of the week before.

Does the Clint Syndrome include the ridiculous haircuts? If mike comes in one day with a mohawk I think I might die.

Anyways I wouldn't say we're much better without him than with him. At times on Saturday I kinda missed him, I just don't think he should play in the midfield he doesn't seem like a midfielder, some of the shots he was taking against that last DC game, at least I think it was that game, his shots were so off target or so bad. I'm not sure if he just can't shoot on target or if he was tired from running and just wanted to get the shot off but whatever it was it wasn't working, I don't usually look at his shots, i noticed him when I see arms flying everywhere and hear someone yelling.

It might have been in this thread or in another where someone said he should sit out a game where he's not hurt to let him know that he's not as good as he thinks he is, not that he's bad or anything but he's not good enough to throw a fit at every call made.

Yeah, he shows something Pope and some others don't, heart. I don't care if you whine, as long as it's usually legit and you show passion while doing it (unlike Lothar).
