Heck of a player. As a Wave fan happy he wont be hurting us anymore but sad to see him leave the sport of indoor soccer.

Never missed a game in his career, and goes out on top. Going to be really hard to replace him and I'm sure he's going to be in the Blast's Hall of Fame

From the Milwaukee Wave Facebook page:

PLAYER NEWS: MKE Wave All Star goal keeper, Nick Vorberg will retire.

Coach Oliviero says, ''Nick has been an amazing player and ambassador for the MKE Wave. We have won 3 championships together. I do believe he can still play at a high level. With that said, I am excited to have Nick full time on our Coaching Staff for the upcoming season so he can earn a 4th Championship with our great organization.''

Was hoping this wouldn't happen ever but it finally did. Sad to see Nick go but excited what we are getting in our new goalie.

He is also a coach , This is a private school so the pay is a lot higher than in the public school system.

That is actually inaccurate. As a former public school coach and current private school coach the public schools pay $1,000-$2,000 more than a private school. With the exception of one or two private schools who throw money to get coaches and players, the county system pays much more. Granted many public systems try to hire teachers to coach now but their pay is more. And where Healey is coaching won't pay as much as other private schools.

Brownsville, Detroit, Saltillo and Las Vegas out.

    And from the press release:

“This setup will give us a league of great parody, further allow all teams to continue featuring their longstanding rivalries while also growing the MASL’s prominence in North America.”

Please, MASL, just admit you have no one who knows what they're doing.

Oh, Sacto, too. They didn't even bother to spin that.

They did correct the press release, though.

Maybe I shouldn't have pointed it out.

So we are down 2 teams from last season. Baltimore, Harrisburg and St Louis coming back, and the addition of Florida, is nullified by the loss of Monterrey, Santillo, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Brownsville and Detroit.

12 of the 23 teams that started the 2014-2015 season are now kaput. (Don't talk to me about "taking a year off.")

And six of the seventeen extant teams have been in business for less than two years.

Well Kenn with the Wave and Blast being really the only teams around that were around 10 years ago, its only natural that the vast majority of teams are new. indoor soccer , is a ' lose some teams, add some teams' proposition year to year, and has been since, well forever. the only thing in question from year to year is how many teams are dropping out, and how many jumping in.

    Yes, I know this.

I am merely pointing out the instability of the sport.

What you've just written above is akin to "Well, it's only natural that these two people born in 1972 are 44 years old now."

    Duh.

Yes indoor soccer is unstable, and has been since well the end of the NPSL. the breaking into 3 mini leagues after the second MISL went away, really accelerated that instability, and we've been dealing with it, in one formation or another, ever since. Sure 17 teams this year, is a lot of teams, compared to the 5-7 teams the MISL 3 fielded, but that number is fraught with qualifiers, caveats and asterisks. About half of those teams are rec teams.

Adding to the uncertainty is this 'owner vs owner' lawsuit with the 'Kansas City' Comets. The team breathlessly announced their 'rebranding' but still no official word on players being signed to contracts, the vacant head coach job, or scheduling of the annual 'open player tryouts'. If I were a Comets fan, I would be hesitant to invest in tickets or sponsorships until more solid updates come out about the team. Not looking good right now. The MASL press releases are hardly a reliable source of information. If anyone has website links to real updates, please share. I hope the Comets survive.

For a good laugh go to the land of Facebook. One indoor page has all the info in a press release from point streak and spelled correctly. The other indoor page has the same info completely spelled wrong. How is that possible???

Unintended comedy really is the best kind, throw in the ironic and you have hilarity.

If this league actually gets a TV contract they can probably save money by doing away with the announcers. Just have a laugh track on a continuous loop.

The Comets are already practicing at the Soccer dome. I understand most of current players will be back but I think Robert Palmer went home to Jamaica and it looks like he wont be playing this year. That's not a for sure but looks like it.
I am meeting up with one of the guys that helps Alan Mayer with the goalies to get a box of vhs tapes of old comets games to work on and he said we will meet after practice.
